accessory Posted 13 March 2011 Posted 13 March 2011 Spitting into a crowd is inexcusable; whatever the provocation. El-Hadji Djouf, a serial offender, is rightly reviled for his antics and so should Hughes be. I suspect there will be a general inquiry into yesterday's off-field events and this incident should feature heavily in that.
Rob1742 Posted 13 March 2011 Posted 13 March 2011 Whatever happened, you can't defend the cause. If someone touched the player, then they should be banned. They were the cause and so need dealing with.

Durnerz Posted 14 March 2011 Posted 14 March 2011 I recall an incident at Filbert street in 01/02 season against Aston Villa when the ball went into the away support and two nobheads decided to hold it and then throw it at Jon Ashton before being thrown out of the stadium, the fans in question if this incident happened as described were very lucky to see the full 90 and still be able to come to matches in my view.
Dan Posted 14 March 2011 Posted 14 March 2011 Agreed with the comment about it being one of our players. If it was I'm sure 95% of this place would be calling their fans a disgrace.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 14 March 2011 Posted 14 March 2011 I was another one who was right near the incident. The 'i'm proper hard' kids were giving him some stick and wouldn't give the ball back. Then, one brave soul in a yellow Leicester shirt gave him a tap on the cheek. Like the brave kid he was, he scarpered as soon as he did it, how noble of him. Ask yourself, if you were that player, would you have taken it and walked away? No, you wouldn't have done, not when you've got a 14 year old uneducated **** trying to show he's hard in front of his mates. Didn't see the spit, but it's typical of football fans that they feel they have the devine right to do whatever they want to footballers, yet if they have the temerity to ever buck back then it's a heinous crime and they should be called every name under the sun. It was also great to see some of the lads who were in the group of people first half though, standing right down at the bottom. Went to jeer at the KIDS in the family enclosure and as soon as the response team stood up they went scurrying back to their seats as quickly as possible. Brave

Brave But the point I'm trying to make is that Hughes spat at fans, most of whom had nothing to do with that group (like me).

sbfox Posted 14 March 2011 Posted 14 March 2011 This. And he got me.. Our fan assaulted (yes, he did) a player. Wrong. A player spat at a group of fans. Wrong. Trying to defend the lad. Wrong. Essentially, everyone is in the wrong; we should just move on and some of us should stop whining.
Tommeh Posted 14 March 2011 Posted 14 March 2011 Just goes to show again the power stewards really have over fans, our lot used to respect them like God, sit if they were told, even lowered voices if asked I'd imagine. This is similar to QPR last week on the divide stewards didn't want to know when it came to dealing with any City fans.

Brave not surprised by the bottom bit, loads of little goons out in force on sat all part of the "£1 party" was like a fvcking crèche on our train getting into scunny.

Complete mongfest. Summed up by some lads (can't have been older than 15) asking us for a lighter. 'ID' the response .. then watching the same group outside a pub (couldn't get in) pull out a bottle of vodka and start pouring it in their eyes. About died of embarrasment for them.

Was this from Sheffield around 12 o'clock? They all seemed to think they were from The Football Factory, embarrassing bunch.

In the ground things were ok around us and as we stayed in Scunny till the last train back, there was no riff raff on that either. This at the Berkely hotel place? As they hovvered outside that and even in the bogs after entering and realising they were well out of place, coiple stayed in and shared a can of fozzies between them. That place was a treat though, round for 5 of us for less than a tenner, proper pints aswell. It's thanks to that I can't remember the walk to the ground or much of the KFC we decided to consume at 10 to 3. Really hope scunny stay up, top away.

Thats the one yeah, got into Scunny at 12:15. We held back just on the off chance the police might round any Leicester up then got into taxis to the Berkely and the same lot were dicking around outside there an hour after presumably hitting the park for a swift half hour.
Dylan Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 Really hope scunny stay up, top away. But we're going up to the Prem so it doesn't matter
