City game to feature on BBC1

Posted on: Thu 14 Apr 2011

Saturday's home game against Leicester City will be one of the featured matches on the BBC1 Football League Show this weekend, with extended multi-camera highlights from Madejski Stadium.

The Beeb will be on hand for complete coverage of this mouth-watering game against Sven Goran Eriksson's team, and highlights will be available when the show begins at 11:35pm on Saturday night on BBC1.

Does this mean we're the game on telly then? I didn't quite understand whether we are just the main highlighted game on th FLS or if we're on the BBC aswell.

...which means a stream should be available.

yeh, somebody said on the live streaming thread that the game was on tv in some other country.

No it won't be live on BBC. It will just mean that there's more than the 1 or 2 minute coverage that most teams usually get on TFLS .

I'm presuming around 10mins (ambitious?) and some more-than-usual analysis by Rosenior or Claridge and Manish.

I hope we play well then. This either means we'll play terrible because we're the feature or we'll play class because we drew to Palace. The way we played on Tuesday doesn't give much hope. Fingers crossed King and Gallagher pull it out the bag on Saturday! :scarf:

We never get any decent coverage on the FLS.

And we'll probably lose.

Everyone hates us.

To be fair Leicester are probably one of the best covered teams on the FLS. Our matches, even if there still only short highlights, are usually seperated from the other teams matches and get introduced properly

I think he was being ironic. People with short memories on here criticise the FLS. Obviously don't remember the ITV offering.

For what it's worth, Saturday will be the 11th game Leicester have had 'extended' highlights* on the FLS this season

*Extended highlights counts as a game where we have commentary. Doesn't mean the H/L are substansial

Those HL are broken down to..

Middlesbrough (H) (11 Mins)

Reading (H) (8 Mins)

Portsmouth (A) (8 Mins)

Doncaster (H) (5 Mins)

Ipswich (A) (13 Mins)

Millwall (H) (7 Mins)

Derby (A) (6 Mins)

Coventry (H) (4 Mins)

QPR (12 Mins)

Portsmouth (H) (4 Mins)

There have been 35 Football League Shows this season, 32 of which feauture the NPC (The other three were on international weekends). If we're being really pedantic we can say 31 episodes for Leicester, as we played Forest on a Monday night.

So of those 31 episodes where we could possibly have featured on the FLS this season, we've had commentary highlights TEN times, and Saturday will make it 11 out of 32.

That ain't bad coverage. We can count ourselves lucky.

These stats were bought to you by Ford Super Sunday Inc.- Being a sad bastard for the rest of time. :)

EDIT: I had to correct a typo, so I may aswell just state that our 'extended highlights record' thus far reads: P10 W3 D2 L5 F14 A17
