Everyone else is asking about the team for next season, although we don't even know what players we will have here yet, so I thought i'd do a pre-summer expectations for next season thread.

I said within minutes of getting knocked out of the playoffs last season that at some point Pearson would either leave/get sacked this season, he went much earlier than I expected I expected around Christmas time, and I said we would finish mid-table, looks like i'm right.

If I remember i'll do one mid-summer/just before the season.

Depends on all what happens over Summer.

I don't tend to have expectations, then you aren't dissappointed. But it depends on the business we do over summer.

I'd like to think we'd get to the Play Offs minimum with the contacts and money we have to throw at it in the summer.

Every neutral I speak to seems to fully expect us to push for the automatics next season. They're impressed by our signings, the football they've seen and seem to put our bad form down to the fact that Sven only came in mid-season. True story.

In reality it's far too early to say at this stage. If we spend some serious wedge on quality players in the right areas, I think we'll go well. Only time well tell on that one though.

If the Thais are as good as their word though on funding and Sven uses that funding wisely, I'll say automatic. There's nobody I really fear in the division at the moment who aren't going up, nobody likely to do a Newcastle with a realistic fear of relegation and I doubt the teams coming up will all be as strong as the trio that came up last season. Southampton might go well and Brighton could fancy a play-off push though.

A top six place realistically would be a minimum requirement from the board.

But i dont think the thais will suffer fools lightly. With Sven having pre season and funds to build his team, i dont think there will be much hanging around if we have a slow start or it looks like we wont threaten the playoffs.

Sven will be under pressure next season. He has to buy well and mould his team.

Sven won't be daunted by the pressure, and he knows himself what is expected of him.

Having less expectation is a good idea, that's mainly why I said we wouldn't get in the play-offs 2 months ago. Softens the blow.

But at the same time there is only one expectation, and that's promotion. Anything less will be a massive disappointment and not good enough.

I think those saying play-offs are on a downer after today - there is no doubt we have the resources to go up automatically. If Sven is good enough he will do that, no question. He will have had a full pre-season and money to make the best signings you can hope for in this division. He will have set his sights towards the top 2 and so should we.

We've always had high expectations, there's no reason that should change now.

We're playing enough good football to suggest to me that with adequate preparation and signings we can challenge for playoffs and if it comes down to it, autos. We've seen how tight it is this year, I predict much of the same next year.
