i was born /bought up in braunstone, and i remember when i was about 8 yrs old i used to go around the local shop

which was run by les shilton. there was this young lad about 15 yrs old, named peter shilton, he used to ask me to take

penalties at him against a garage door. needless to say i didnt beat him very often, but he was the one who got me into

lesta city. he told me they were the best team in the world, the rest is history, still i think he was right though!!

In September 1949, for my 6th birthday present, I was taken by my Dad to watch a football match at Filbert Street. With hindsight, I think the opposition must have been Blackburn Rovers because I do remember that it was an exciting game and the result of that game was a 3-3 draw.

I was hooked. 'Leicester City' was part of my bloodstream and as I grew older, that transfusion became thicker and thicker as I was treated to the magic and skills of players like Derek Hogg, Willie Gardiner, Arthur Rowley, Mal Griffiths, Howard Riley, Gordon Wills, Jackie Sinclair, Ian McNeill, in goal Johnny Anderson, then the fabulous Dave MacLaren, then Gordon Banks and Peter Shilton and so on.

I can still see Tony Knapp (Mr Dependable) standing on the edge of the D ready to repulse any attack ably supported by Ian King, John (Jack) Ogilvie, John Sjoberg, Ritchie Norman, Willie Cunningham, Len Chalmers. Then there were the solid midfielders like Jack Froggatt, Johnny Morris, Pat Ward and of course Colin Appleton, not forgetting Graham Cross, Frank McLintock, Bobby Roberts, Neil Lennon – the list of such wonderful players goes on and on, season after season.

And then there was the crème de la crème, the most wonderful, the most magical, the most exciting partnership ever to wear a LCFC shirt, Sir David Wedderburn Gibson and Sir Michael David Stringfellow.

And on top of all this, one of my Dad's friends was a Director and indeed a former Chairman of the Club.

Although I came to college in Manchester in 1963 and have lived in Stockport (SK7) since 1968, my roots are in Ibstock. I am not just a Leicester City fan. I have Royal Blue blood in my veins. Leicester City is as much a part of me as the air I breathe.

To add further interest, my wife hails from Ashington. My sister-in-law was in the same class as Bobby Charlton. Uncle Jack was Chairman of Ashington F.C. and a friend of Jack Charlton. Another Aunt was friendly with the Milburns – and Stan Milburn played for.............. Leicester!!!!!

Born and bred in Burton Upon Trent (that's right folks, officially "the smelliest town in England". To quote an American guy from The Mirror in a poll they ran "It literally smells of shit"). Dad born and bread in Leicester (Syston) as were his parents (my grandparents {not sure why I explained that, pretty obvious that my Dad's parents are my Grandparents}). All of my dad's family are Foxes and thus so am I. From about the age of seven or eight I reckon. Grandparents had a caravan in Swithland Woods so used to spend a lot of time in Leicestershire and then went to Leicester Uni (for the cheap tickets more than the uni). Went to Uni in the MON glory days so was a little spoiled to be honest. Love the Foxes and always will. Live in Edinburgh now so don't get to many games but follow them avidly.

Rumble.

Voted 'other' although it's a bit of a combo of that, born and bred and passed down...!

Nobody in my family passed it on, my Dad's a West Ham fan but has got more interested in the egg chasing as he's got older lol:rolleyes:

As a nipper I 'supported' Liverpool for a year or so (even had the old Candy kit with white flecks on it  ) and then started supporting Spurs immediately after Italia 90 purely because of Gazza.

Once Gazza got injured in 91 and was sold to Lazio I started paying more attention to City as my best mate in primary school supported them. His mum and dad were fans and took him to the odd game as well. Then for his 10th birthday, they took him (and me  ) to City v Barnsley at Filbo. Sold :trumpet:

Now it seems natural to say it's because they're my home club but looking back I guess it's possible I could've stayed a Spurs fan if Gazza hadn't have got injured and sold.

Throughout early childhood I 'supported' Man U cause it was cool and they were always on the telleh. The only games I got taken to as a kid was family night football boo hoo, so forgive me if watching the likes of spider kalac and julien joachiam didn't make me want to follow lestoh. But I quickly grew out of the Man U phase and have since followed lestoh and it has become quite a pashun.

Mentioned it before, but mine is slightly odd.No connections to Leicester my dad supported Norwich and Big Dave Watson lived next to my uncle ,so you would have thought Norwich.Wrong.

i used to have the Panini sticker books and the first shiny team badge i got was a Leicester badge, many years ago.Thats the truth,to be honest its not too far A47 route.

Dad never really liked football (weirdo)

It was my uncle who got me into Leicester, As a kid I just loved playing football and my favourite players were mainly those who played for the national side. I never really supported anyone untill I was introduced to City & i've never looked back since! :scarf:

A man that don't like footy = gay

Your adopted. :ph34r::P
