Filbert_Ross Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 Ive heard the Apple store costs bare so didnt wanna take it there. I need to replace the headphone jack socket, (sound flickers on and off in one speaker/headphone) you can get the part off ebay for about £5 but dont fancy fitting it myself. any little shops which could do the job for me??
SemperEadem Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 There used to be a shop just on the entrance to the Haymarket Shopping centre that sold alot of apple gear, not sure if its still there or it went when the apple store came.
Jon the Hat Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 How old is it? If it is fairly recent the suggest you start by making an appointment at the apple store genius bar, at t a time when they are usually busy like Saturday morning. Ask nicely if they have any advice or can offer any solutions. You might just be lucky, some people have had a straight swop given to get them out of the store quick when they are busy. Worst case they confirm what is wrong with it and you say it is too expensive and leave.

I know of someone that dropped their Iphone out of a third floor window days after buying it and was given a replacement straightaway at the Apple shop, no quibbles whatsoever. They wouldn't do this if they weren't planning on taking over the world

Alexikokopops Posted 13 May 2011 Posted 13 May 2011 Yeah, I got a replacement iPhone for free when I had a problem, so worth a try with the iPod. Plus, when I took my (out of warranty) Macbook in they fixed it and replaced the top plate thing, all for free. Keen.
Filbert_Ross Posted 16 May 2011 Author Posted 16 May 2011 maybe ill just try the apple store then and see what they say. its a ipod classic 80gb, dunno what generation etc it is though. cheers for responses
