iPhone Repair, Orange shop or Apple Store?

Recommended Posts

I bought it from an Orange shop but I've heard everything goes through the Apple store, just need someone to clarify really.

It's not a major problem, it's just the button playing up. You have to press it quite hard to work and when you want to close apps it takes a few tries before a double click will open up the bar at the bottom. It used to be really responsive but not anymore. It's still under warranty and everything, had it under a year so there should be no problems.

Has anyone had this problem before? Will they fix it there and then or will I have to wait a day or two? Cos that'd suck balls.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't though, it's well annoying. I know if I go it'll work fine and they'll be like 'wtf m8 you trying to con us?'

From my experience they're pretty friendly at Apple Stores, so don't worry too much.

They'll probably give you a new 1, and take yours to refurb it and sell it again.

I wanted to do that with mine, but when they gave me a new one they took my old one off me

I look after my shit, my iPhone is practically pristine.

I'm still a sentimental git though and would be well sad having to swap it :(

Don't suppose anyone's jailbroken their iPhone have they?

I'm thinking about it but have the fear.

Edit Some gibberish i wrote earlier which turned out to be rubbish.

No you don't, if you have a problem just restore it ;) wipes away the jailbreak, THEN you can take it in, and they wont know the difference.

I've done it to my iPod Touch, plus many others, never had a problem which wasn't through lack of brain ability from myself.

Apple store! Took mine for a cracked screen, woman said it will cost £120 to replace it, do I want to go ahead. I said well yeah I can't have it looking like that, and she said ok sir for this one time only I'm going to waiver the fee. Gave me a brand new one there and then, and even transferred all my data over for me! :D

It doesn't mess up the contract or anything does it? I still want all my free texts and minutes and stuff.

That would be very nice indeed.

Going in tommorow.
