Friendly Against Kettering

Would've thought Kettering fans would be kicking off about moving out of the town?

No-one wants it.

The reality is though that it's impossible to afford RR due to the rent that the landlord is demanding (up from 43k last season to 70k next season), plus the lease would only be for 7 years. The NP lease is for 25 years, and although NP will probably cost a similar amount, the potential for income there is far greater.

I think it's come down to a choice between having the same club to support 7 or so miles away, or potentially having no club to support at all, as there'd be nowhere for even a phoenix club to play at a decent level locally.

Edit - When I say potential for income is far greater, I mean when managed properly, as opposed to how Diamonds managed it.

Will the away end at Peterborough be a new seated stand for this season then ? if so that is a shitter, was a superb laugh when we won 2-1 there the other season.

From the Posh OS

The fixtures have been released, with the planned development of the Moy's End terrace, how many fixtures are we likely to have with the stand open for away supporters?

'I would imagine we will have at least four of the initial home fixtures. There may be more. I think it is in the public realm that work will probably start in October on the Moy's End terrace, therefore leading up to that it will give us four games and then depending on the actual date in October, there may be more prior to demolition.

So only the first four games at London Rd will have the Moys End open. Its getting demolished in October, and then away fans will be given about 1000 seats in the main stand.

1,000.

Fvcking hell that's a diabolical allocation, IMO when they've done shit again and they'll be needing more fans in they'll give us more, no way on earth will they sell 12k tickets unless it's a massive game like before.

Just looking up, the sides that'll go on the Moyes End; Crystal Palace, Ipswich, Hull & Burnley

Glad Palace get to go on it though, about as deserving as any fanbase in this league.

Not sure on this, f'only it t'were a weekend game.

And that peterborough bit is very disappointing, the only thing that shithole had going for it was terracing.

From what though?

The Diamond Centre is managed separately and wouldn't plough money into Kettering as it didn't for the Diamonds.

Their big hope was starting up a business providing vocational training but it never got off the ground.

To my mind the potential to increase a revenue stream just by moving here is limited. I can't help but feel that this is more about forcing the hand of the owner of RR.

Now Asda has been built there will not be a supermarket built on it. I can't see planning permission for housing going through. Kettering doesn't need a conference complex. I'll bet the rent is dropped and the lease extended.

That one that's been built in a converted barge is immense.

Went there for the pre-season friendly last year and in the League One season. Posh away is worth it for that alone.

Glad about that, I thought it wasn't even going ahead - no sign of it in the Mercury's pre-season list the other day.
