Simmo86 Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Leicester City has confirmed their fifth pre-season friendly of the summer, a trip to the Elgood's Brewery Arena to face Kettering Town. The Poppies, who finished mid-table in the Blue Square Conference Premier, will play a Leicester City XI on July 26, 7:45pm kick-off. This is the fifth friendly of the Foxes pre-season campaign, as preparations continue for the 2011/12 season. Games against IK Sirius, Brescia, Hammarby and the star-studded Real Madrid have already been confirmed.

General Smuts Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 I suspect we'll announce one against Quorn or Hinckley as well at some point.
AaronH Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Didn't realise it had changed from Rockingham Road yeh changed a couple of times over the last few years, wouldnt exactley call it an arena

CosbehFox Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Didn't realise it had changed from Rockingham Road They're probably won't even be a football pitch there in a couple of years.....it will be all Leicester, most Kettering have had enough of the owner.
Neil_LCFC Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Looks like this will be played at Nene Park now (rushden & diamonds fc) Rushden have been kicked out of the conference & look like being wound up. Kettering chairman Imran Laadak held a meeting last night about a proposed move to Nene Park for this season as kettering are getting shafted on rent at Rockingham Road. Majority of fans at meeting surprisingly backed a move to Rushden so where the game will be played is anyones guess at the minute. Won't make it so handy if you were planning on going by train !
ozleicester Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Disappointed, i like Rockingham rd, terraces, nice ground.. but, ive not been to Nene so..thats something i guess
Dan Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 For fvck sake. So it's basically Peterborough number two, terrace expected, seating delivered. Well that's a huge anti-climax then, I'll still go but that is shit.

Will the away end at Peterborough be a new seated stand for this season then ? if so that is a shitter, was a superb laugh when we won 2-1 there the other season.

Craig Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Well the move looks likely, but it no means certain yet. Kettering will still have RR next season for at least womens and youth football, so I guess it depends on how long it takes for it to go through and get everything sorted if they do move. Still a decent chance it could be at RR.
Fosse Boy Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 Would've thought Kettering fans would be kicking off about moving out of the town?
