LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 just ordered my leicester away shirt first time in years iv had both!
sdb Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Ah thankyou for that, going to kick up a stink on match day. would it not be best to do it asap?
AmericanScott Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Hi everyone.............. i have just joined this forum to express my disgust at the quality of the new shirt. On the launch day i purchased 2 full kits for my sons 9 and 11 years old. I have washed the shirts together in the washing machine on a delicate, cold wash, no spin.....always dried on an airer never the tumble dryer. The transfers started to peel on both shirts after only the second wash. I went into the megastore several times last season moaning about the transfers and the shop manager informed me that the transfers "were a bad batch". The only transfer that didnt peel last season was the 3rd away kit. The transfer on that is furry and different material. That shirt still looks like new. This season - The burrda logo has already come off one shirt and one pair of shorts, and peeling transfers. Feel very cheated because my boys are desperate to wear the current shirt.........If its any conselation to anyone out there, the manager in the shop said she can replace the king power logos for free as many times as is needed. Going to see the manager before the Real Madrid game......simply not good enough. Think weve got to go in a kick up a stink. Im going to write an official letter this time i think. Sorry for the grumbles I understand your frustrations about the quality of the new kit, but please don't go in there kicking up a fuss. It's not the staff's fault at the end of the day. Take it from me, nothing hurts more than when a customer comes into my shop and blames me because something isn't right. The nicer you are to staff, the more respect they'll give you and more willing to sort out the problem. If you go in there to "kick up a stink" they will not be helpful and it'll result in a lengthy process to get it sorted. Plus, the whole time you're making a fuss, the only image in their head will be of you getting run over by a train whilst your family watches in despair. Take it from me Try diverting the blame to the manufacturers as they will be well aware of the problem by now. They'll agree. Just a little advice
Yojoe36 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Cheers for the heads up lads. I just won't wash mine ( might be good luck)
1964FOX Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Am I the only one who is hoping all the sponsors stickers fall off so it looks like a proper retro shirt?
nuttytimmy Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 all the millions the thai owners are spending on the club to promote the king power name and then when they print the logos on the shirts they wash off anyway not ideal would love this burrda contract to be cancelled and adidas brought in I'm shocked at some of the images on here, but I have to say my home shirt has been washed, twice, at 30 and looks like new... Only thing I have to wonder about this thread is why there seems to be clamouring for Adidas. Do people seriously want an identikit to make us look exactly the same as Peterborough or Macclesfield instead of a smart, bespoke design? I'd feel much more ripped-off spending £40 on a shirt that's virtually the same as half the rest of the teams in the world.
thewarmanator Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Same thing has happened to mine and its going back tomorrow!

Just a little advice Thankyou for your advice......I went in to the shop 8 times last year to replace king power logos on my sons shirts....always agreeable and pleasant to staff. I never said I was going to kick up a stink with the staff.....just going to express my disgust at the manager.....I would never put the product fault on the the managers shoulders but expect more than being told "thats a bad batch, we can replace the logo for free just bring it to the store"....what about those Leicester fans who cannot get to the shop?? I have written to Burrda today with no response as yet, so we will just have to wait to see what happens. Will keep you posted. I am grumbling because I had, 2 home kits, 1 away shirt, 2, goalie kits that the transfer cracked. Then now hopeful that the new home shirt would be better, its not. Got to admit not good enough?? Cheers for the advice though mate
foxyfoxy Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Wash it inside out and it don't happen lads. [/quote Haha......Ive got 3 kids and know how to wash things.....i washed mine inside out, cold wash, no spin, drip dried on an airer and after 2 washed the transfers are peeling. You are simply wrong.....or just plain lucky. It does happen lads beware!!!
foxyfoxy Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Same thing has happened to mine and its going back tomorrow! Can you let me know what they say please mate. I cant get sooner than the Real Madrid game, because of the disctance i live. Cheers
foxyfoxy Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 would it not be best to do it asap? Yes it would mate, but cant get to Leicester because of distance that we live, dont see why i should lose out on transport costs as well as poor quality top, will go in on match day. thanks for the advice
thewarmanator Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Yeah will do mate. I bought my on the first day it was out so i am presuming the quality of them must have improved

Would be great if we could get a top manufacturer with a unique design that would please all hopefully

Cheers for the advice though mate If Burrda don't sort it out, let the club know and go as far as local media regarding the issue. I'm not by any means dismissing the fact that it's poor quality. I have not got one myself yet as i'm waiting for the club to come out and say "we've got new durable shirts, etc.". And hearing this sort of problem off someone like yourself furthers my doubts of getting one. Best of luck though. It must be crazy having to get shirts replaced all the time! I mean, you pay £30-40 for one and you expect it to last at least a year. Keep us updated
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Just got to say that its how your washing it on what temperature. mine is fine and I washed the yellow away kit and this happened to it... This happened because of the temperature when i washed it not the shirt quality
foxyfoxy Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Yeah will do mate. I bought my on the first day it was out so i am presuming the quality of them must have improved Fab, thankyou, would appreciate that, i bought my lads them on the first day too, so fingers crossed. Cheers pal

This happened because of the temperature when i washed it not the shirt quality I was mine on cold, inside out and hang them on an airer and they do crack and peel, thing is kids wear them all the time so i wash them 2-3 times a week after they have played footy. Even so they should last, think you are wrong to give invalid info, the logos peel regardless and there are others on this forum that would vouch for it.

Also forgot to add, the printing on the back and the npower badges on the sleeves are perfect. No marks. I am a mum of 3 and know how to wash things....buy a shirt expect the logo to peel.

foxyfoxy Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 my mum also knows how to wash things... Not arguing... get your point. your mum does your washing....says it all. I have read this forum for a long time and sometimes it seems that some people are just out for an argument. I know the situ with the shirts and am just trying to advise others before they spend £30-£40 pounds of their money. All I wanted was to speak to other in an adult manner to see if they had the same problem, and have been communicated with some very helpful members. All you are doing is telling us that we wash them wrong....when you dont even do own washing....hmmmm

It might not be a nike or adidas template but you're stretching to say it's bespoke. I personally would love to see Puma do our kit. Not just for quality but design, too. Some of Spurs' kits in the last few years have been beautiful.

ajthefox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Who else has the same template as our new kit? No-one that I know of, but Burrda have hardly pushed the boat out. Our first Burrda kit was almost an exact copy of the Joma 125 kit that preceeded it, and the home kit this season is just a blue top with a collar and a little detail on the sleeve. The away kit is an exact copy but has reversed colours. Don't get me wrong I think the kits are ok and I will probably get the away kit at some stage, but as I said bespoke isn't really the word. There is very little in terms of design on our kits and I really don't buy into this "Adidas only do templates, I'd rather we had our own kit from Burrda" bandwagon.
