bald reynard Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Has everyone seen the recent news item on Sky Sports ? Apparently, Worley is a 'hot property' and is being tracked by a couple of Championship clubs (including Millwall and Brizzle). Do you think anyone at City at the time was sensible enough to put in a 'sell-on' clause, when he went to Oxford - and we can get some share of any future transfer money. I doubt it ! PS If Brizzle are keen - and if we have a clause - perhaps we could tell Oxford, there can be no deal for Worley, unless the Worzels sell us Maynard (cheap) !!
accessory Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Only saw him play for us a couple of times - can't say he was particularly impressive. But he must have had some ability at some stage, otherwise Mourinho wouldn't have signed him for Chelsea.
MPH Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Remember his debut on that fateful day... played out of position...young lad and was probably our best player that day... I hope he makes it in the game.
Houdini Logic Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Remember his debut on that fateful day... played out of position...young lad and was probably our best player that day... I hope he makes it in the game. What a day - Worley in midfield sending through balls to McAuley up front. Absolute desperation
samlcfc1 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 wont be any sell on clause due to the fact we released him by mutual consent still a young man at 22 mind
bald reynard Posted 8 July 2011 Author Posted 8 July 2011 What a day - Worley in midfield sending through balls to McAuley up front. Absolute desperation What do you mean - it was 0-0 - Worley did his job in defence ! Was it Hollowhead or Pearson in charge when he actually left ? I guess Hollowhead must have drawn up the 'Retained List' before his unceremonial departure - and he showed Worley the door.
Fox92 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 I remember seeing him against Sheffield United (away) and he was poor, although so were most of the team
MPH Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 What a day - Worley in midfield sending through balls to McAuley up front. Absolute desperation I'd like to laugh at the thought... but even now when i think of it i get a lump in my throat! What do you mean - it was 0-0 - Worley did his job in defence ! Worely DEFINTIELY played in midfield for that game...

Worely DEFINTIELY played in midfield for that game... Yeah, on reflection I think you're right - wasn't it McAuley and 'Big' Bruno in the centre of defence ? Remind me, what the heck was Hollowhead doing playing Worley in midfield ? No, don't answer - we are talking Scrumpy-man in charge here !
Guest Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Remember his debut on that fateful day... played out of position...young lad and was probably our best player that day... I hope he makes it in the game. Even though I'd rather not be reminded of being there that day I agree with MPH
Thracian Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 The times I saw him, including the reserves, he was unimpressive, lightweight and cost us. But, not for the first time, we clearly didn't make the best of him and, that being the case, it's hard to understand why we bothered signing him, as with a good many others.
