davieG Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 Merc Neil Danns says Leicester City's new arrivals have all been excited by the style of play that is being demanded by manager Sven-Goran Eriksson Danns, who signed as a free agent after leaving Crystal Palace, said the passing game Eriksson wants suits him, and added he was not the only one. City dominated possession for long spells in the pre-season friendly against La Liga side Real Mallorca in Sweden last week. Although they only drew 1-1, Danns said the signs were very promising, especially as he is already forging a good partnership in midfield with Richie Wellens and Andy King. "It went very well because both Richie and Andy like to play football," said Danns. "It suits my game down to the ground because it allowed me to get loads of touches on the ball. That is what I love to do. "I am really looking forward to linking up with those two this season. "I think the style of football isn't just tailor-made for me, it is tailor-made for anyone who wants to play football. "Everyone gets plenty of time on the ball and we moved it around well. "I was excited by it, and not just me. I was speaking to Lee Peltier after the game and we both said how excited we were to play in this team." City are now in Austria for the second leg of their pre-season tour in Europe and, by the time they get home at the weekend, they will have been away for two weeks. Danns said it was the longest pre-season tour he has experienced, but said the players were bonding well and it has been a very productive trip. "I have never been away for this long before," he said. "The longest trip I have done before has been 10 days. It is a grind but it is work and we know what we have come here to do. "We are here to get fitter and it will only benefit the boys. We are surrounded by great training facilities. Everyone is gelling perfectly. This trip is a long one and we are all getting to know each other. "The boys are getting on brilliantly. It helped that I knew quite a few from before I arrived. Because a group of us have come in it, isn't just me, and we have all been able to bond together. "Myself and a number of the boys have families and it is hard to be away from the kids and stuff, but we understand what we have to do and it is a small price to pay." Danns says he is settling in well with his new team-mates but has not yet been given a nickname, although a few have been singing his songs. Danns is an amateur musician and has posted some of his songs on YouTube, where they have been spotted by his team-mates. "A few of the lads have been singing my songs around the place," he said. "That has been the banter on me at the moment."

Guest MattP Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 Saw this last year.. Matt Oakley says Leicester City's new arrivals have all been excited by the style of play that is being demanded by manager Paulo Sousa.
Guest MattP Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 If we play football great, if we play like QPR and concede about 25 goals all season even better. Just wish the merc would stop wheeling these stories out, do the talking on the pitch lads.
