It would be pointless coming on here if you didn't post, you and Liam are the only reliable ones on here!

We have two posters who really seem to have their finger on the pulse of what's going on, and I for one regularly look to see if either has posted info, yet some people who know the square root of jack shit about what's happening feel fit to abuse, insult and belittle Bert and Liam at every opportunity and it's frustrating as hell. They don't have to post, they aren't being paid and in Bert's case they have to be quite surreptitious about the way they present their info lest their sources get into trouble with the club for leaking information, so he's actually taking a risk. They don't and haven't to my knowledge presented themselves as 100% correct 100% of the time, but are reliable and that has to be valued. I personally think it's symptomatic of shit-brained posters forcing out good posters to either boost their online egos, seek rep points or just generally get the attention that's lacking from their everyday lives and it's going to get worse as the school holidays drag on if you know what I mean. Fecking summer.

Shame though, transfer talk is poor, Info from Bert and Liam is the only thing that makes it worth venturing into and wading through 79 pages of "HEZ NOT GONNA LEV, HE LUVS DIS CLUB" from visiting mouth-breathers & our resident 'tards arguments with whoever'll listen. Still others getting themselves in a tizzy over every rumour and flooding the thread with: "Is this true Bert?" is just as bad and would probably be just as irritating as pointless digs from attention-starved ego-manics.

I honestly don't think there is any danger of Bert going anywhere, I don't know whats gone on in the other thread but I know Berts big enough to ignore any idiots. I don't know Bert personally but I think he enjoys being the insider and the attention that comes with it, thats not an insult Bert, I would be the same. Everyone wants to be the insider. I appreciate his info but I wouldn't say without it the forum is useless.

I wouldn't mind them so much if good posters hadn't left because of the cretins, numerous posters have fecked off to TB as a result of the trolls. The ignore function is bloody handy though, and my list grows daily.

Agreed, but man up and get over it - nobody looks good letting kids wind em up in the real world and the same applies to the www. I'm sure this Bert fellow pretty much gets it or he wouldn't have such a long-standing reputation here.

But if you decide to quit after getting some minor abuse from someone you don't even know, that does raise the question of why you post the info in the first place? There are 2 basic reasons you might post the information: 1) You are keen to provide the forum with the best possible information as quickly as possible, thus giving users early access to info and boosting the forum's profile. 2) You enjoy the buzz of providing the information and the reward of people praising you for giving them in-the-know info. Surely, if one was really posting in the interests of sharing with the forum and benefiting City fans as a whole, one would continue to post in spite of the nonsensical ramblings of one or two isolated forum members. Most people really appreciate the info. Maybe it's more complicated than this.
