Nottingham F**ç%st and the new Fairplay Rules

Recommended Posts

If you read the Nottingham Post today the Forest chairman has claimed that the new fair play rules starting next year will require cuts in wages because a club cannot make trading loss or face fines and transfer embargo. With all this investment ,unless we make it to prem this year hopefully,we are surely going face major problems. The forest chairman has stated Leicester cannot have received the memo!!!! Thoughts?

What a stupid comment ! The new rules are not instigated by Forest. All i am saying is IF we dont get promotion and continue to make the losses we have been are owners going to stick around paying millions in fines because the expensive contracts we offered this year are not covered by our income!!!!!!!!!!!! :frusty:

Doesn't he know that all king power would need to do is increase the amount they pay us to advertise their brand , if this then covers the increase in wages we are within the rules ( the same way man city will get around the rule )

I'm fairly sure it's phased in, do you not think other clubs are spending more than they earn and have players on long contracts.

Yeah - this was brought in to combat debt not spending for economically viable clubs. If King Power decide to pay 40 million in shirt advertising and stadium rights into the business then the books balance. Simples.

One also assumes that they could have a rights/share issue to raise funds or even buy out the company that owns City to get round these stupid rules. After all they are anti-competitive and only suit those Clubs that are large now and effectively prevent smaller Clubs from growing.

No one wants Clubs to go bust but there are other ways to ensure this without preventing Clubs from challenging the existing order.:thumbup:

Many of their fans were complaining last season (with some justification) that their squad had no depth. Since then, another half-dozen players have left and only three have come in.

Unless their board starts loosening the purse-strings to compete with us and West Ham in the transfer market, they're in danger of being left behind.

Patience oh sceptical one....

I am patient just i cant see where the goals are going to come from. Last year we were totally relient on McGugan scoring wonder goals and chambers at set pieces. Did you see McGoldrick yesterday?! !
