Filthy Fox Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 No thanks, got enough defenders already haven't we? http://www.fansfc.com/story/34282.html James Perch is a target for Leicester City Football Club. The 25-year-old has only been at Newcastle United since last summer, when he joined from Nottingham Forest on a four-year contract. Perch made just thirteen Premier League appearances for the Magpies last term, and he doesn’t feature in Alan Pardew’s long-term plans for the club. It is believed Sven Goran Eriksson is willing to offer the fullback a move to Leicester in an initial loan deal, which could lead to a permanent transfer.
Wymsey Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Nothing special, but he's not bad to have as most likely a second choice.
MikeyT Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Nothing special, but he's not bad to have as most likely a second choice. Depends where you play him though Wymsey. He can play along the whole of the midfield, so probably in a 4-4-2 he would be used as a winger i'd have thought, as we obviously have enough cover at RB now which is where i believe he usually plays??.
Dabizas Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Nothing special, but he's not bad to have as most likely a second choice. 2nd choice where?
Wymsey Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 2nd choice where? Well he usually played mainly at right back.
Filthy Fox Posted 2 August 2011 Author Posted 2 August 2011 Something seems fishy about this transfer something seems fishy about newcastle at the moment...
Filthy Fox Posted 2 August 2011 Author Posted 2 August 2011 i heard that the Canaries want him hopefully they will get him
Zingari Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Zingari is a ball bag sorry Houdini it was just too obvious wasn't it ?
joelmurray Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Really can't imagine bringing in another defender, especially at RB where we already have two top players. If we were to get him in to play as a wing/wide player then surely Sven would find someone who plays there as their primary position, not a right back...?
Dabizas Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Well he usually played mainly at right back. We already have 2 RB so wouldn't be even considred as an option there surely? not too sure on if he can play RM but with the formation sven uses don't think he would fit in
Libertine Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Probably nothing. Maybe we were interested and he's on the list but we're done in that position and Sven isn't going to sign a RB to play somewhere else, he'd sign someone who is more naturally in that position - wing or wherever.
Wymsey Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 We already have 2 RB so wouldn't be even considred as an option there surely? not too sure on if he can play RM but with the formation sven uses don't think he would fit in I can see him filling Naughton's shoes, as Perch is the type of player that usually defends but likes to attack as well, helping the midfield.
Dabizas Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 I can see him filling Naughton's shoes, as Perch is the type of player that usually defends but likes to attack as well, helping the midfield. I just think with pelts and pants we don't need another right back, whether he would improve the team, and fill Naughton's boots I cannot comment as I havn't saw anything of him, still cannot see this coming to anything as we are more than adequate in this position!
THEFATBASTARD Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 great signing, apparently perch finds the net on a regular basis....what we have been looking for......
ozleicester Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Id be to worried about someone knocking him off
TheUltimateWinner Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 I wouldn't read to much into this... IF it would happen i'd think it would be a loan.
ozleicester Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 this thread is a joke.. you've all been taken, hook, line and sinker
