Phube Posted 5 November 2006 Author Posted 5 November 2006 you clearly can't be a fan of football Nope, I'm a Leicester City Fan!! It's got nothing to do with Football!!!
Leicester Lass Posted 5 November 2006 Posted 5 November 2006 Wenger made himself look such a fool at the end by refusing to shake hands as well Dummy out or what??
lookwhaticando Posted 5 November 2006 Posted 5 November 2006 Wenger made himself look such a fool at the end by refusing to shake hands as well Dummy out or what?? That's a common tactic of his when things go tits up - refuse to acknowledge your opposite number.
gatesheadfox Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 None what so ever!!! Yes, and I'm sure he's done it all on the same budget as Macclesfield, only with all foreign players!!! I even heard Henry only asks for £50 a week plus travel expenses! yup. if i remember correctly he only wasted £2.50 on francis jeffers
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 you clearly can't be a fan of football He's a ****en muppet when it comes to this debate and refuses to see whats right in front of him. I've argued him down about it and he has basically admitted I was right. Yet still he carries on.

Manwell Pablo Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 I'll quote myself for this!!! Sorry, I've had my outburst, I will now go back to "looking away".
Phube Posted 20 November 2006 Author Posted 20 November 2006 They really can't win when they go a goal down, can they?!! Like I've said all along... One man team!!!
lookwhaticando Posted 20 November 2006 Posted 20 November 2006 They really can't win when they go a goal down, can they?!! Like I've said all along... One man team!!! Not being able to beat Newcastle at home is a pretty poor showing to be fair... Newcastle have been wank lately.
lcfc_jme Posted 20 November 2006 Posted 20 November 2006 Wheyy this thread has returned. And rightly so Arsenal are awful at their new home and really can't seem to get firing on all cylinders there. Well and truly out of the title picture for another season
Phube Posted 26 November 2006 Author Posted 26 November 2006 Now. It ended 3-1, Anelka got a brace, Arsenal hit the bar about 4 times. Played Bolton. Put where it belongs!!! Ha Ha... I do love watching Arsenal lose!!!
lcfc_jme Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 Impressive for Bolton, but Arsenal have been hit and miss thus far this season. Definitely missing Viera and, to an extent, Pires
lookwhaticando Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 Put where it belongs!!! Ha Ha... I do love watching Arsenal lose!!! Don't we all? I always love a good Bolton v Arsenal. Especially up at the Reebok. Impressive for Bolton, but Arsenal have been hit and miss thus far this season. Definitely missing Viera and, to an extent, Pires Bollocks. Maybe in other matches, but not this one. Viera and Pires wouldn't have helped them out of that mess. Besides, they always struggle against Bolton. Their physical, disruptive style of play really gets up Arsenal's noses. Arsenal's tippy-tappy football is stifled and they don't like it. Then they start to lose their rag. Having two players booked in the first half, both of them for *just* dissent proves the point. There were no serious Arsenal fouls, but plenty of Arsenal loose mouths. Good game it was, I loved every minute of it (spare the moment Arsenal scored). Edited to add that Sam Allardyce factors in the Arsenal game in his plan for the season. He takes 3 points against Arsenal at the Reebok as given, and could probably credibly allow for a point away at Arsenal as given. I wouldn't want it any other way. ;) :D

Jesus I wasn't referring to that specific game, I was on about in general this season. When Viera was in the midfield, he generally tended to calm things down and win the ball back for them, allowing them to gallop away. And it was pretty effective. Pires also used to contribute with a fair amount of goals, as well as setting up a decent amount as well. I know that Bolton tend to ruffle the feathers of Arsenal's continental brigade, and as you said, it throws them off track and they lose the plot. They do not like the more physical games, and tend to shirk a challenge.

I know you're referring to the season, and you're probably right. They do miss Viera to some extent. But I think Wenger probably made the right choice by shipping him out. Best to get shot before he turns crappier. If I remember his final Arsenal season, he wasn't exactly the all-star he had been before. He seemed to have gone off the boil a little. If only we could get almost fourteen million quid by shipping our waning stars. As for the Bolton game - the players they needed to win that sucker were K Davies, K Nolan, I Campo, G Speed, E H Diouf, and to a lesser extent N Anelka. Come on Bolton, get Davies' contract sorted!! Davies is brilliant, he's exactly the kind of player we need.

I never take offence at anything I read on this forum Yeah he wasn't the all conquering Viera he had been previously, but he was still a strong influence for them and allowed them to play their flowing football. Still, I trust Wenger made the right decision, and a tidy little profit as well If we could get 14 million quid for Low, De Vries, Douglas, Sylla and Maybury put together as opposed to seperately, I'd take it We won't get anyone like Davies in. But I can see what you mean. His physical presence and actual ability on and off the ball is actually pretty good, and often goes unnoticed by many A bit like De Vries on his loan

He's a striker that only gets about 10-15 a season... but he creates so many more for Bolton. And the number of times I've seen him fall deep to help defend, he's just incredible. Brilliant player. Should be in the England squad because he's so different, if you need to change things up he's your man. He'd be available on a free at the end of the season, unless Bolton do the sensible thing and sort him out with a new contract. Rumour has it Newcastle are interested, but he'd be no use to them. He suits Bolton's style of play. In fact, he and Nolan are Bolton.

But my fears are that he'll end up playing Premiership football next season as well.

There'll be a whole host of teams after him. The likes of Newcastle, Man City, Middlesbrough would all take a good look at him I'm sure. I sincerely hope he stays at Bolton, I like Bolton, I like Sam Allardyce and I like Kevin Davies/Nolan/Jussi (not going to try and spell his surname) . I want Bolton to do well, and Davies is a huge part of that. Brilliant.

I just think their style of football would suit him better than Newcastle's or Middlesborough's. Bolton need to hurry up and start contract talks though - can't he sign a pre-contract with somebody without breaking the rules when he's in the last 6 months of his current contract?

January I believe is his chance to sign a pre-contract. So yes, essentially six-months as most contracts end in June.
