lookwhaticando Posted 20 February 2007 Posted 20 February 2007 Edison Mendez is a hero Arsenal are going out of europe hopefully. :bounce: With some luck.
MC Prussian Posted 21 February 2007 Posted 21 February 2007 Down the ARSE... Hehehehe... Serves them right.
Phube Posted 26 February 2007 Author Posted 26 February 2007 lildave3 you're a legend... thank's for doing your best!!! One more thing!!! Ha Ha!!! Little petulant children of Wenger!!! No silverware for you this year me thinks!! (Well hopes!!)
lookwhaticando Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 Toure. Twat. It wasn't the kids who lost their cool... it was one of their more senior players! Lovely. PS: Welcome back, Phube.
lcfc_jme Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 Arsenals kids were unlucky yesterday. They played some outstanding football at times and gave Chelsea a better game than most senior sides in the Premiership or Europe will do all season. Quality stuff!

Arsenal reserves are better than the first team. Fact.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 Toure. Twat. It wasn't the kids who lost their cool... it was one of their more senior players! Lovely. PS: Welcome back, Phube. All involved were under the age of 23. The only players on the pitch I'd consider as senior were Hleb and Baptiste.
Geo V Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 Chelski mullered the young Gooners in the second half. Lampard and Sheva hit the bar and they missed a few more chances. All this talk of Arsenal and there superb squad and they may well end up with sweet FA (and I dont mean the FA Cup ) come the end of the season.
lookwhaticando Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 All involved were under the age of 23. The only players on the pitch I'd consider as senior were Hleb and Baptiste. Toure (aged 26, unless I'm mistaken, and surely considered a senior player) was at the centre of the brawl - it was his (very silly) reaction to Mikel's (silly) tugging that sparked it all.

lcfc_jme Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 Arsenal reserves are better than the first team. Fact. I think I'd have to say you were right in saying that mate - the youngsters seem to play better football, look hungrier and pull out results which make people take notice more often than the first team do. And I think the youngsters beat Bolton as well, which is something the first team just cannot do!
Joe. Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 Arsenal reserves are better than the first team. Fact. So therefore you're saying: Aliadiere > Henry Hoyte > Gallas Traore> Clichy Denilson> Gilberto Silva Walcott> Rosicky Nahhh
JoeyB Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 arsenal are going to be one hell of a team in 4-5 years time when the youngsters have got more prem experience
lildave3 Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 So therefore you're saying: Aliadiere > Henry Hoyte > Gallas Traore> Clichy Denilson> Gilberto Silva Walcott> Rosicky Nahhh They play better as a team is what i meant, and get better results arsenal are going to be one hell of a team in 4-5 years time when the youngsters have got more prem experience They have too many quality youngsters if you know what i mean. They can't all play can they
Geo V Posted 27 February 2007 Posted 27 February 2007 Im sick of hearing about how good Arsenal are going to be. Loads of players look good one minute and never fulfill there potential. Plenty of players historically have hit there peak when they were younger and others have never been the same players after an injury or two. There is no guarantee that Diaby will become as good as Viera, that Traore will be as good as Cole or that Alliadiare is the man to replace Henry as theer world beater. Loads of the talk is just the typical knee-jerk crap that is spouted that is unfounded. Yes they are a good bunch of kids but to hype them up and to compare them with the world cup winning senior players that I have listed above (with the exception of Cole that is, sadly!! !) is ridiculous.

I have to agree with every word there, spot on. Diaby and Traore had decent games the other day yes but when I've seen them before they've been poor. I would be very very surprised if they ever became players as good as Cole and Vieira. Even all this hype that Arsenal are going to be an amazing team in years to come is rubbish too. For every young player that makes the grade, there will always be a team matching them, buying a current player of equal or better.

I can't believe they amount of ranting and raving that has been done about Sheehan, Stearman, Weslowski Dodds etc that we're having this debate about Arsenals youth team . So many of their younger players already do hold down places in the first team though. With over 15 first team apperances this year we have. Clichy 22 Eboue 23 Fabregas 19 (will be the best player in the world at some point in his carear) Hoyte 22 Robin Van Persie 23. Mathieu Flamini 22 Adebayor 23 theres half a team there. Notice a patern with the ages (with the exception of Fabregas but he as I say has the abilty to be one of the best players of his generation) Wenger tends to use his youth squad reserves and the Carling Cup to get players involved in the late teens early twenties and if they're good enough they start to make their break through into the team at around 21/22/23/. Then their are the Walcotts, Traores, Diabys and Denilsons of this world that may or may not make the grade. But if you look at it Arsenal have a two decent young players for almost every position on the park. And ask for other teams buying players, Arsenal have a bit of cash as well. They're already a fantastic side, they're just horribly inconsistent. consistency comes with age.
lildave3 Posted 27 February 2007 Posted 27 February 2007 I find it annoying how many of these promising youngsters are not from England. Hoyte and Walcott were the only two weren't they? He's gone out and bought all these lads, others teams haven't. Teams like Middlesbrough have groomed them up through the academy.

It's only the teams like Boro who only seem to groom the Englsih 'talent'.
lookwhaticando Posted 27 February 2007 Posted 27 February 2007 But that's the annoying thing. It's only the teams like Boro who only seem to groom the Englsih 'talent'. ... and us, of course.
Milky Posted 27 February 2007 Posted 27 February 2007 But english lads at the age of 10 or 11 just aren't as skilful as there foreign counterparts. We don't take the coaching at that age seriously enough in this country, as in holland for example, they give that job to their top coaches.
Phube Posted 28 February 2007 Author Posted 28 February 2007 Lets not all get excited, their 'talented' reserve team lost to Villa's the other day!!! Ha!!
