Kent Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 There's no denying today was a stern reality check for us all, but I think it will have given us more than just that. One thing we can't do is rule out this squad on the back of one poor home performance. These lads are winners, if they weren't then they wouldn't be where they are today and playing for our team. We won at Cov but played shit today, and because of that on Wednesday they will be hungry as fvck to make amends for what happened today and to show Bristol City and the league as a whole what they're about and why teams will need to be more than on their game to get one over on us. Sven hasn't had the career he has so far by not adapting after previous mistakes and Matt Mills certainly isn't a bad player. So please, all I ask is that we have a little faith. I think we'll come good sooner rather than later.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Here, Here! I think there will definitely have to be a concerted effort from a certain portion of the posters on here to keep pushing the positives this season!
He's not bald Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Here, Here! I think there will definitely have to be a concerted effort from a certain portion of the posters on here to keep pushing the positives this season! I have refrained from making any comment on our performance today and intend to keep my thoughts to myself however, anything less than 3 points on Wednesday night would be poor,a draw would be bad enough but early in the season as it may be I doubt there are very few teams that have gained automatic promotion from the Championship where they have had back to back home defeats at any point in their season!
ithuriel Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Bad tactics today cost us, the wrong formation against the wrong team. Hopefully it will be a rude wake up call not just to the squad but to Sven as well.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 These players are good players at this level... VERY good... 2 issues to consider.. 1.Time to gel 2. Sven.....messiah or mercenary? We'll see

We'll see Good players know where other good players are going to be, especially ones that have been together for weeks & weeks now. This seems to be, manager doesn't know who his best 11 is & then how to rotate them to get the best of squad as a whole. He also hasn't a clue what formation to pick Hopefully everything is right for the mid-week game else the questions will only get tougher
Guest shearfox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Johnson needs to come in, needs to get match fit because he is exactly the kind of player we are missing in the middle. Vassell was missed as well, at times he may run to nowhere but he scares defenders, wins freekicks and wins corners. Gally and King also need to start, Gally is our most creative player and without him we look lost when going forward.

Bugg Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Just to add insult to injury... Matt fryatts goal was a beauty today... How many times does this need to be said... ...HE DIDN'T WANT TO STAY HERE BECAUSE HIS LOVER PEARSON HAD GONE.
ramboacdc Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 as ive said before in previous threads and to my mates. it wasnt that we were bad. there were times we were good. king and nugents chances spring straight to mind. it was just this team had our number. a team that got to wembley last season i would expect a tight game. and we have made so many changes to our team in the close season its gonna take a while for any kind of team unit to gel and work fine. i mean coventry are favourites for the drop and we got past them. then rotherham. no disrespect to them but we are 2 leagues above them. we should be beating them. you wanna be with the big guys you got to beat the guys around you granted. but this league is tight...again. i mean the top 2 spots are taken by the promoted sides and all the clubs that came down are a bit stop start, and teams that got to the playoffs last season are drooping (forest especially) 10 more games and everyone will be at their peak abilities really. then the class will show.

Bezzanator89 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 How the **** can you not want to try your best and win your opening home game? I think it may not be trying their best but it may be how their heads dropped after the first goal. We do need to better and we can do it.
