gingelcfc Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Hopefully better than Saturday. Usually get a good buzz at a midweek home game but with Bristol only bringing 200 fans cant see anything special happening to be honest, i expect it to be similar to the atmosphere against Reading, which was only a whisper better than the atmosphere at a grave yard! At least we will have a good time in Nottingham on saturday, just over 4000 fans and sold out is a respectable following.
Larry_LCFC Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Leicester games are always the same. The crowd is buzzing and singing for the first 10-15 minutes while the team plays really well. After that time it turns silent and I think it shows on the pitch aswell. Dont think that will ever change to be honest.

John Matrix Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 hopefully no chants of buying the league or booing satdy was an embarrassment on and off the pitch are the fosse boys dead or what?
MrSpaM Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 As long as we don't start singing that "were buying the league" chant again, never heard anything more foolish in my life, it was embarrassing. Especially since Reading scored about 30 seconds later
Weller in Tights Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 My main gripe is the atmosphere at the Walkers. In all the years watching City I have experienced the great and the lousy teams and the football they play. That isn't a problem, if you choose to support your local team and not be a 'Glory Supporter' you have to accept whatever level you play at. Success like the fantastic football under Jimmy Bloomfield and the success with O'Neil, then feels even sweeter. However the atmosphere is something I have been disappointed with. I remember small crowds of 10,000 at filbert Street making more noise!!! Some of you may say you go just for the Footie, fair enough, that's what you want. I go for the whole match day experience. The pint in the pub before the game, the banter with my mates, the travelling away, the atmosphere AND the football. What can we do about it??? Sorry I haven't any magic wand. However I do think making a section of the ground 'Non-reserved seating' would help, so the singing fans get together. Moving the Kop next to the away fans might also help. But these are things the club would have to do. Oh Yeah, get rid of the drum. Can't stand it. Can we not Sing/chant without one? One more, can the older fans in L block teach the younger ones to sing 'When Your'e Smiling' properly. They go far too fast at the end and the hand waving just becomes a blur. Come on lads get singing/chanting wherever you sit in the ground. If we all make an effort maybe those around us will join in. Bertie Mee Said to Bill Shankly Have you heard of the North Bank Highbury? Shanks says no, i don't think So But I've heard of the LEICESTER BOOT BOYS
John Matrix Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 the drum is the main thing that gets people going..without that it'd be a morgue.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Sometimes the crowd gets the team going, i think without making excuses the crowd needs the team to get them going at the moment
Larry_LCFC Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 An atmosphere thread on foxestalk??/ Well i never!! Are you making it your mission today to go on every single thread on FT and complain about its existance. First the chants thread, now this one. What next?
lcfc"weasel" Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 hopefully no chants of buying the league or booing satdy was an embarrassment on and off the pitch are the fosse boys dead or what? We're still here, singing for 90, lack of people at the back of SK1 who are up for it is dreadful though. 40 in there at the back on Saturday, of which at least half sat and never uttered a word all game, what can you do when you're surrounded by people who don't want to join in?
1964FOX Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 I intend to drink a lot before tonights match and will probably end up dancing around singing on my own. I will probably look like an absolute t-wat but if you ask me after the game I will probably say the atmosphere was great.

Tommy G Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Foss Boys just sing ''Bring on the Sunderland and Arsenal...'' all the fooking time, gets boring. There were about 30 of them last season now it sounds like 10 teenagers mid puberty with voices breaking, its embaressing tbh.

Are the Fosse Boys still functioning?????
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 People need to get there rose tinted glasses off! The atmosphere was shat at Filber Street on plenty of occaisions. Unltimately Leicester fans are just a bit crap on the whole! Too many moany arse twats and plenty of weird looking fookers too! The atmosphere at the Walkers is like most grounds, ok when we are playing well and quiet when we are not! Occaisionly a naughty tackle sparks everyone up but it's not like we have ever been reknowed as being intimidating and we never will be! Oh, nice to see the shitters throwing away points last night at Palace - they are desperate this year!

Mike the Metal Ed Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Didn't even get sung once on Saturday... Actually, it did once. Far from the only song we sing though.

A t least the 10 are trying, what I find embarrassing is groups of young fans standing there doing nothing, oh except slaging off people for trying.

Tommy's just jealous, you boys carry on, when the time is right and you all are rerady maybe, the Original Fosse Boys will come and grace your band of young Fossites!!!
El Sieffsi Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 I just hope "E I E I E I O" isn't chanted at the start of the game again..pride before a fall springs to mind..at least save it for when we're winning/won
