Call yourself fans

Looking at some comments tonight im really really pissed off and feel like ranting, but I will try and keep down my tone

Firsty fans will be slating our performance tonight and calling us shite, but I don't agree with that at all we played well tonight we attacked more we made chances, and Nugent played a blinder a huge positive. Overall the players we have and the performances we have put in bar Reading, have been pretty good. We are just lacking penetration in the final third that is our only downfall, we need two strikers in my view but the main thing is that Sven is targeting some, it showed tonight that players like Wellens, King, Nugent can create chances for us, and with natural goalscorers playing for us im sure we will score more goals.

Also on some other threads "fans" have been slating St Ledger, but im going to stick by him tonight and say he played well. 1st half his heading accuracy was top notch, he was picking out Bamba, Konchesky and Peltier with ease and his defending overall against Maynard in particular was fairly good aswell. One thing was his long balls, which were pretty damn shocking in the 1st half, BUT 2nd half he actually cut them out of his game which made us play better in my view. His mistake was very very bad but they happen, Mills made one against Real Madrid, Ball made one against Rotherham they happen so get over it. St Ledger in the 2nd half was much much better than in the 1st, his heading accuracy was still excellent, plus he played the ball out of the defence very well, for idiotic fans who didn't take a blind bit of notice, and just presumed he is shite due to one mistake, must have not seen his passing accuracy in the 2nd half, he was finding the midfielders with perfection in the 2nd half, and in my view that was only a good sign.

People need to calm down and stop getting frustrated, comments and ratings tonight have really peed me off somewhat, these people call themselves fans and due to us losing to the bottom side they just call us shite or rubbish. The goals were unforunate, one was a set piece at least it wasn't due to bad defending or anything, and one was a mistake which happen week in week out. The team isn't bad at all, we just need to buy some strikers then I honestly believe things will look much better.

At least we have got a win on the board, and at least it's only three games in you have to stick by this team because it's a very good one, give them time and let Sven do his business in the transfer market then we will start to win games.

People may call me deluded but frankly I don't give a shit, im sticking by my team and im sticking by St Ledger tonight.

Keep the Faith :scarf:

I've been a season ticket holder since '97, and the expectations are the biggest I've seen.

People are just frustrated, as we've had a massive build up, and we just don't deliver.

I went to the game. We have a great keeper and our back 4 was good. St ledger was very good, passed the ball well, Bamba a bit suspect at times. And Nugent was excellent. NOW for my rant........ the whole midfield was shit FACT fernandes has a nightmare. Gallagher was awful ........ shocking ........shit ....you get my drift. Dyer was errrrrrrr Dyer literally. The formation needs looking at, 442 so we can get a forward PARTNERSHIP not hit uo and hope nugent does the rest alone.

Agree with most of it except about St Ledger he looked a bit dodgy all game I thought and without fernandos covering him he would have got caught out before I thought.

BUT

the free kick i thought was soft and what is with booing your own players off the pitch. Things will turn around and then all of these fans who didnt come today because we were awful against Reading will come back and say they were loyal supporters, thats the most annoying thing.

You gave the game away with that old cliche, much loved of Micky Adams.

Tonight's performance was like 04-05 - a collection of supposedly quality individuals failing miserably to deliver against a team they and we should expect to beat.

Why do the happy-clappies on here NEVER learn? The more time you give a poor manager, the worse his team becomes.

Tonight was the first time I have ever boo'ed my team at the final whistle. Usually i hate it but to be quite honest, they deserved it. I paid my money and was rewarded with that useless performance. Everyone too scared to shoot or try something inventive. And before anyone asks yes I do call myself a fan, hence the reason im so pissed off with the situation.

ive been to tonights game - i didnt boo at the end of the game as i dont think thats right (unless aimed at the ref who was also shocking) but the standard of football that is being served up at the moment is shocking, utter garbage, we are awful just plainly awful.

Ive been to Cov away, Reading home and Bristol City at home tonight so far this season, now because of work commitments i cant go for a while again, there will be of course fans out there who decide not to go for a while again until we have picked up and start playing decent football again, cant blame them really, we are shocking, dreadful to watch at present.

I wasn't at the game tonight but listened to the radio and I must say a lot of the time hearing about How SSL was playing and the things he was doing wrong made me nervous every time I heard his name, obviously not easy to pass judgement without actually seeing the match but it did sound a poor performance and a shocking error by him too.

Maynard scoring TWICE was a damn slap in the face but I was very proud to hear Nugent belting one in!!

I'm also disappointed to hear of fans walking out before final whistle and booing the lads off the pitch, get a ****ing grip, if ur a true fan u would get behind the team and spur them on, SUPPORT!!! They need confidence and their true fans willing them on, and in turn they will eventually repay the support with better results and performances.

Some people need to remind themselves of how much change there has been in the last year, and have near enough a full first team of new players, there are obviously high expectations for these new player, it's naive to think we would be winning every game easy, this season is gonna be damn tough, only the third match, early days yet. Of course it's damn well frustrating but the team will gel, the quality players will gel and form a quality team, the tide will turn and we will be on winning form once again.

I don't doubt for a moment that what Sven is building is a winning team, and most definitely gonna be contending for a top 6 finish, time will tell.

In Sven I trust, and the boys will come good and do us proud (with any luck against Florist)!!!

Did it ever occur to you that they might be too scared because they don't want to get booed. No one wants to get booed so why risk it iuf they could play a simple ball and avoid being booed

Now your calling Sven poor now, the manager who guided Lazio and other teams to success, voted best England manager apart from Ramsey :appl: well fookin done idiot.

Im ranting now :crylaugh: so sorry about my above comments.

But firstly Sven turned us around last season, if it wasn't for him god knows where will be at this current stage. Sven is class and just needs a bit of time this season, let him get some strikers and see where it goes from there.

St Ledger was rusty in the first half, but I don't know about panicky certainly his mistake was panicky but 2nd half and im sticking by this like I said, I thought he played excellent he brought the ball out of defence and picked out players with perfection if "fans" don't seem to think so then fine.

In my view im not deluded due to my comments, that's my opinion and im entitled to it.

Just what is grating me is these so called fans, saying were shocking and shite and that St Ledger played worse than Mills on Saturday which isn't true, never seen Mills make an accurate header on Saturday didn't even see him make good passes, he was very erractic against Reading.

St Ledger improved as the game went on, mistakes happen Mills made one against Madrid and scored an own goal against Rotherham yet people stuck by him because of his cost, and people saying that he is one of the best defenders in the Championship, St Ledger made one mistake but overall played a very good game.

Rant number 2 over

I completely disagree with that. The crowd were urging the players to "attack attack attack" and "get into them" and ofcourse "shoooooot" at every opportunity. Bamba had a go at goal - completey off target but still he got clapped. I would rather see a team go down fighting than one that just passes back and forwards to the keeper and never attacks goal.

What group of morons voted Sven a better England manager than Sir Bobby Robson?

St Ledger was unprofessional.

He may have been slightly better than Mills was on Saturday but his performance was still way below what we should expect from an international defender, or indeed a City one.

People leaving with 15 minns to go was a low point at the match, those are the kind of fans we can do without, I cringe when i think if a player sees that,
