jonthefox Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 And kills the pilot. They way they fly those things, even as proffesional as they are, it was only a matter of time. There you go.
ScottybRAF1553 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I find your post very distasteful. As a servicing member of the RAF and aircraft technician myself, your comment about going splat is wrong on a lot of levels. Nice one you tw t.
AoWW Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 RIP. Seems from initial reports that the pilot made every effort to guide his plane away from built-up areas.

ScottybRAF1553 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Thoughts go out to his family and friends. Bad times

ScottybRAF1553 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Get over what. Just saying I found it out of order. I am over it. Is my opion not valued or are you one of those serial wind up posters????
jonno24 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Get over what. Just saying I found it out of order. I am over it. Is my opion not valued or are you one of those serial wind up posters???? It is valued but dont call someone a twat for posting a link with the word splat on it. On my Facebook page i am in defence of these men who are in the red arrows as it pisses me off that they are overlooked whan it comes to hero worship of the armed forces. Especially when it turns out this guy was in Libya beore his crash. Just let people put what they want unless it personally affects you
ScottybRAF1553 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Ok You made your point but I know people who know the pilot who lost his life today I thought it was distasteful and still do Not having a go. He deserved better than that comment that's all

He deserved better than that comment that's all Unless his family are going to read the comment im not sure it has much impact. I knew people who had relatives who died on 9/11 and the jokes that came out then were distastefull but as the people who were intimately involved were never going to hear those jokes it didnt bother me too much. Each to their own i suppose
Rincewind Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I hope his family appreciates the humour in the link. My first impression was that the pilot was being mocked for crashing. I apologize if this was wrong and for not seeing the full meaning behind it

Each to their own i suppose Still think his post is out of order. But will let it go as you seem to beat everything I say with a bigger and better reply. Don't give a toss about jokes its my view that the guy who started the topic is a tw t with his comment his family won't read this of course not but is that the point!?

Write to your local mp then if it giving you so much grief
Wymsey Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 RIP. He's extremely brave doing events like these which certainly require doing the right things at a very short space of time. I agree, it's not nice to write it like you did Jonthefox. Sorry but
Guest MattP Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 whats the need/point in the "he go splat" bit?
ScottybRAF1553 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Write to your local mp then if it giving you so much grief Nice come back pal you are a gent.
Rincewind Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I sometimes have a sick sense of humour. But I would not consider posting something like that even if close family/friends/colleagues relations did not see it. Especially if it was the first post on the subject. I would be aware that there might be some who would not like it. But that is just my opinion and maybe my age too. You learn how to be more subtle as you grow older. No offense.
jonno24 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Nice come back pal you are a gent. Question : Do we live in a Democratic Country ?

He is out of order. the pilot was found dead yards from his aircraft that he stayed with so not to crash into built up areas. No time to eject
Rincewind Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Question : Do we live in a Democratic Country ? I think you have missed the point. No-one is denying your right to post what you did its the timing of it that seemed wrong. There may not be members of his immediately family reading it but there may be some who know pilots relatives or otherwise..

Rincewind Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 We seem to have gone off subject. Lets return to paying homage to the Red Arrows pilot who lost his life in a tragic accident. RIP.
Jaspa Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 RIP I'm sure he lived life to the max He was doing a job that isn't without high danger. I thought the arrows might have some type of safety feature, there was bound to be some accident one day

Each to their own i suppose Why are you even defending the tasteless comment? It's one thing to think something and even say something behind closed doors but a completely different matter to put it out there in public. Jon quite rightly received a dressing down - hopefully it will make him think a little more when he posts on sensitive subjects.
