Guest MattP Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Very poor this. Really bad, totally lost our discipline in the field.
Brainy Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 what you trying to say - when we play shit I won't comment? So what? India have played a hell of a lot of cricket in the past 12 months and we were under-prepared for the matches in England this summer. Happy? It makes you look like an arse. You've had a couple of short home series against NZ and Australia, a six week tour of SA and then a months break until the WC on home territory. From there you had a TWO month break until your nothing series in the West Indies where you rested the majority of your top players.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Australia unleased a future superstar in Paddy Cummins played in his first ODI and got 3 wickets. He is a fast bowler who is only 18. He played in the T20's and took 5 wickets in 2 games.
marko Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Brilliant knock from Patel - i'm not his biggest fan, but credit where it's due. Unlucky for Trott finishing 98*.
Dylan Posted 20 October 2011 Author Posted 20 October 2011 Either a South African or Indian shining for England Top knock from Samit, got England to a decent total. Now a decent knock from Parthiv and I'll be a happy Patel

StanSP Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 He was born in Leicester, not Mumbai or Chennai. That means he's English. Is Cliff Richard Indian then?
StanSP Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Nationality isn't all down to where you're born. Parents nationality comes in to it too. Samit Patel is half-Indian, half-English. English cos he was born here, Indian through his parents. It's how Kevin Pietersen qualifies to play for England - via his English mother. If it was going by your logic, he'd only be able to play for South Africa cos that's where he was born.

ScouseFox Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Close stuff, two relatively new players at the crease, run rate of 7 needed
marko Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Close stuff, two relatively new players at the crease, run rate of 7 needed Another wicket down. India need Dhoni to step up. Hopefully he doesn't.
I am Rod Hull Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Still cant see us winning... Interesting though...
StanSP Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Can't fault the England batsmen here. 298 is not a bad total at all. India were 190-1 off around 30 overs I think. People criticising Trott for being too slow, but he was the top scorer today. Anyway 3-0. Job done.
Guest MattP Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Trott takes serious criticism for me, I thought 320 was par, he took all the impetus out the innings and he's puts so much pressure on the other end. Bairstow still in the hut whilst Trott has faced 20 overs on his own is unforgivable. How many games Kieswetter has to cost us before he is dropped I don't know. and still Bopara? Why? Another slow unproductive innings again, Bell,Prior, Broad and Meaker should all be in this side.
marko Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Pretty poor discipline in the final few overs. Keiswetter had a 'mare with that stumping; no excuse for it. Dernbach was all over the shop and needs to stop trying something different every delivery. Hopefully they can get their act together and win one game to save some face.
Guest MattP Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Samit Patel is half-Indian, half-English. English cos he was born here, Indian through his parents. Tell Samit that :-D Bopara I would agree, Samit has always considered himself English.
Dylan Posted 20 October 2011 Author Posted 20 October 2011 Didn't mean to cause a debate... was just meant to be a little joke/banter!
Corky Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 India in India at one-day cricket is probably the touhest test, but that game was thrown away. 30 needed off three overs, as the bowling side you should go on and win the game.

Bairstow should be given a chance behind the stumps, thus giving Bell a place in the side. Meeker in for Dernbach on Sunday please, too.
