Collymore Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Schmichael - 8 MOTM - He didn't actually have to save too many shots, the ones he did were not spilled and were textbook. His all round play was excellent - His kicking was out of this world, (I've never seen a keeper hit it so far so accurately) the defenders were heading his goal kicks from their 6 yard box at times! We could then pick up the loose balls and gain possession. His throws were accurate and never wasted, he caught everything hit in to the box and commanded his box so well. How nice to have confidence in a keeper for the first time for a while Peltier - 6.5 - Didn't get forward too much but not much seemed to get down their left so he was quietly effective Mills - 7.5 - After a shaky start where we nearly paid from his sloppy pass he was excellent once again. Even got forward at times during open play. Looked like a proper captain tonight. Bamba - 6.5 - A few wasted passes, not his greatest night although he did make some key headers. Konchesky 6.8 - Got forward more than Peltier tonight which was rare to see. Nice to see his fitness improving. Too much down his side first half though from boro Abe - 7.5 - Here there and everywhere - Found space on the right wing as Peltier wasn't bombing forward, Middlesbrough couldn't track him at times. You can tell he's an International. King -6.5 - Fairly average, did quite a lot of closing down, quite a lot of dirty work tonight which needs be done. Johnson - 6.5 - Tried to make things tick without ever really setting the world on fire. You can still tell he's not at full match sharpness. Keep working hard Michael, the only way is up. Wellens - 6.5 - Improvement from Sunday, sometimes holds on to the ball far too long. Vassell - 6..8 got an extra .3 for one of the best bits of skill I've seen for a while (a ridiculous take and drag from a sky ball) that had the Middlesbrough players chasing shadows, his touch at times is world class. He just lacks that killer instinct. Beckford - 6 - Didn't do much to be honest, he will come good though. Hope his injury was not too bad. Subs Schlupp - 7 - Made an instant impact after tearing the defender a new one with his blistering pace, nearly won a penalty. Was a bit quiet after that but your league goal will come soon Jeff Fernandez -6 - Did his job Danns - n/a Overall, a good point and a decent performance. Middlesbrough are a good footballing side and we absorbed everything they could throw at us. 3 points on Sat and it will have been a good week. First triple clean sheets for 2 years is it?
Donut Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 How did you manage to get back so soon? I have a feeling one or two speed limits might have been ignored

Mack Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Vassel was clearly a 6.9854561521. What are you talking about!?
Fox92 Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Fair play to all that went. All the way to Middlesbrough on a weekday Good result as well in my opinion.
Bert Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 I'm not so sure Schmeical was MOTM.... Kasper 7 Peltier 7 Konchesky 7 Bamba 8 Mills 8 Wellens 6 Johnson 7 Abe 6 King 6 Beckford 5 Vassell 7 Schlupp 6 Fernandes 6 Danns 6

Kasper 7 Peltier 7 Konchesky 7 Bamba 8 Mills 8 Wellens 6 Johnson 7 Abe 6 King 6 Beckford 5 Vassell 7 Schlupp 6 Fernandes 6 Danns 6 Fair point about Schmichael, soon I'll be expecting performances like this every game and his rating will be adjusted accordingly. I couldn't hide my pleasure having a keeper who I could trust though. I won't take it for granted for a while. I think mills would have been my real MOTM

Bert Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Yeah, it's great to finally see, added to the fact that when a ball comes in you're not gonna have someone flapping at the ball.
