Jimothy Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Kasey was a legend. One in a long list of great keepers we've had at the club. Just on a side note, for those that criticised Weale after the Cardiff penalty defeat, for not saving any. I can't remember Keller ever saving a penalty. His default was to dive the wrong way, guaranteed. It's never the keepers fault for not saving a penalty.
Stay Positive Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I'd definitely put Keller at the top of my list when it comes to Leicester goalkeepers. He was superb, and a nice guy too. I met him several times in the nineties, as I used to go down to the training ground quite a bit, and he was always one of our friendliest players (though Muzzy would always take the prize where that is concerned).
flowwolf Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Yes an integral part of the MON years and though the word legend gets used a bit too much he WAS a legend . Hope he comes back to watch a match so we can all give him a welcome applause and a thank you .
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Great keeper for us. Not a patch on Tim Flowers though. Flowers is the best keeper I have seen in a Leicester shirt.
Ashley Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Kasper is very good but I presume you didn't ever see KK play. Also Schmeichel looks class against Championship strikers. Keller was up against Alan Shearer and David Beckham, not Michael Manset and Gary McSheffery. I did see Keller play I had my first season ticket at the age of 5 so I remember him well. Kasper Schmeichel does have massive potentinal though if we don't reach the premier league in the next year or so I can see him moving on to bigger and better things. Also Kasper Schmeichel played against Real Madrid and was pulling off some world class saves in that game, if it wasn't for him could of been about 4 or 5 to them?
Footnote75 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I was lucky enough to meet him during the France 98 World Cup. I think he was quite shocked there was a genuine LCFC supporter there at the camp! Class act.
wellyfox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 My top five although I never seen banks has to be Banks Shilton no pref for top spot Wallington paul Cooper KK
Corky Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Hope he enjoys his retirement. Great keeper for the club, and loved us so much he gifted us a goal when playing for Spurs (though typically we didn't make the most of it ).
purpleronnie Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Over 64,000 saw his last game. Great atmosphere great tifo.
eye666 Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Great keeper, seemed a great bloke and listens to great music. Lad.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Best of luck to him. He was a reliable 'keeper.
Earlydoorsjones Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Disagree with you there MPH. Best keeper I've seen play for Leicester is, Kasper Schmeichel. Yes I know he's not played a lot of games for us but he is quality! That is a big shout... Give him a few seasons before he earns that right. For now, Flowers or Walker...possibly Flowers nudges it. However, Wallington was a great servant of the Filbert Street goals.

The utmost recognition goes to Keller, who was a quality keeper at a time when City fans really had an icon in their American goalie.

Personally i think someone needs to play well in more than one important game before they are elevated to world class status, a status that Keller had rightly earned. By that logic Levi Porter should be a £20m player for playing a blinder against Chelsea in the cup...
