SeattleShane Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Plays his last league game for the Seattle Sounders tonight before he retires.
tickler28 Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Good luck to him he was quality between the sticks for us. Testament to him that we haven't had as good Goalie until now. Think his best years were at Leicester what a legend! Enjoy many days in the sun mr Keller!
MPH Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 I remember the USA playing Brazil in a friendly several years ago and it being a 1-1 draw with Keller playing a blinder. Ronaldo , i think it was, claimed that Keller was the best keeper he has ever played against. Probably the best keeper i have seen play for city anyhow... Management beckons for him, i reckon...
Jollie Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 He was a brilliant keeper, kept us in the game in the MON years more times than I care to remember...the whole ground chanting 'USA'! A magnificent servant to our club, a man that could never be over rated.
MC Prussian Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Should come back as a goalkeeping coach. Then again, he's a West Coast guy so he'll stay in Seattle (or join Portland) for that matter.

Disagree with you there MPH. Best keeper I've seen play for Leicester is, Kasper Schmeichel. Yes I know he's not played a lot of games for us but he is quality!
Jollie Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Disagree with you there MPH. Best keeper I've seen play for Leicester is, Kasper Schmeichel. Yes I know he's not played a lot of games for us but he is quality! Kasper is very good but I presume you didn't ever see KK play. Also Schmeichel looks class against Championship strikers. Keller was up against Alan Shearer and David Beckham, not Michael Manset and Gary McSheffery.
pSinatra Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Kasper is very good but I presume you didn't ever see KK play. Also Schmeichel looks class against Championship strikers. Keller was up against Alan Shearer and David Beckham, not Michael Manset and Gary McSheffery. Over the years Leicester have been blessed with some of the finest & some of the not so fine, but it's a bit early to declare Kasper as one of the greats. I'm too young for Banks, but not too young for Shilton, Wallington & Keller. It's going to take more than a handful of games before Kasper can be held in such high esteem. I wish Kasey a long & happy retirement.
hackneyfox Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 We didn't do too badly for goalies with Keller, Flowers & Walker. When Schmeichel gets me a couple of days in Europe then I'll rate him better than Keller.
Criggers Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Keller is one of my fav past players. Plus, that black green keeper kit was awesome and the two are stuck in the memory bank together!
blueharmie Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 keller is one of the best ever keepers to play in goal for leicester. A real pro, legend.
stockyfox Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 We've recently had a thread discussing opinions of keepers who have played for Leicester. Suffice it to say that Kasey Keller was yet another outstanding keeper in a long line of outstanding keepers that we Leicester fans have been privileged to enjoy and idolise. I have memories of an array of brilliant, breathtaking saves by Kasey. He made 125 appearances for City in all competitions and kept umpteen clean sheets. I was sorry when he left in 1999 and envious of Spurs when he signed for them two years later. So I am not going to enter into a general discussion about the merits etc of former City keepers. I would just like to say a big 'Thank you' to Kasey for his services to LCFC and also for making me take a positive interest in the USA national team when he was selected! 'Kasey! You did us proud and I'm delighted that your time at Leicester is a part of your illustrious CV. You were one of football's gentlemen. Enjoy a long and happy retirement'.
Jace Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Keller was absolute quality played such an important role during the 1996/97 season when we won the league cup couldn't of done it without him, 1 of my favourite Leicester players of all time cant believe he's only now retiring he didn't look that young when he signed for us
LcFc_Smiv Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Keller was the keeper when I really started to get in to football and immediately became one of my heros, and one of the main reasons I wanted to be a keeper growing up, best of luck to him!

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Well done KK and thanks for the best years of your career at Leicester
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Good luck Kasey, great servant to the club and game in general... I can even remember you having a blinder against us in a draw at Millwall too... when you had long hair
He's not bald Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 True legend a fan's favourite and will not be forgotten...thanks Kasey for your time and effort...enjoy your retirement!
21st Century Fox Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 I remember I wrote him a letter years ago and he sent me back a signed USA Nike photograph. One of my all time favourite City players.

StanSP Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 Hero. Hope he makes a return to the club one day. I would say as a special guest at half-time or something, but he deserves more than that. Plus, Rendell Munroe's probably got all the slots booked up.
J.Lisemore Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Used to love him when he was at City. Good luck to him whatever he does after football.
Guesty Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Both Keller and Flowers were quality. I remember driving in Olympia which is the state capital of Washington in USA. We stopped at some traffic lights and I realised the massive road I was on was Kasey Keller Way. I made my dad not move even though the light had gone green just so I could get a picture of the street sign.
MPH Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Disagree with you there MPH. Best keeper I've seen play for Leicester is, Kasper Schmeichel. Yes I know he's not played a lot of games for us but he is quality! For me, it is difficult to put Schmiechel any where near Keller. Yet. He has had some good games. In the championship. I dont think Kasper has actually played for the national team yet either When a brazillian Legend calls Schmeichel the best keeper he has ever played against then will i put him somewhere near Keller, But he sure does have the potential to get there, no doubt.
