Finnegan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Red was definitely correct and I don't think "our" penalty was a penalty. And we lost because we were shit. But how anyone can think that the ref made the correct decision for their penalty is beyond me. Wasn't a hint of a foul, King just... won the ball.
jamesmilner Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 all i see is "ifs"," buts" and "maybes" . the facts are we all know the football we are playing is not good enough and needs to change . at the start of the season we all made predictions and not many said we would be playing as we are and in 13th position . also bottom of the discipline league too ! not what i expected . i have absolutely no excuses for that !

Personally I'd say the pen was about the only call he got right! I'll have to see it again but at no point did I ever think the pen wasn't one. Kings reaction said it if nothing else.
Alexthefox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Packing the middle of the park with 4 central midfield players is why we lost. I agree, think if were gonna play without wide men we have to commit men forward aswell. Didnt think we took enough risks up-front. Not sure about Vassell either.
orangecity23 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Right maybe I just look into things too much but this is how it seems to go when decisions are made against Leicester in matches. People either; a) Blame the referee for us not winning. b) When they can't disagree with a decision because the referee made the correct decision they seem to go 'tit for tat' and complain that we should have had the same decisions. (King shouldn't have had a peno, The Birmingham player was just defending, a defending well, maybe our players should take a leaf out his book, the claim they should have had a player off, debatable, would these people be saying he should have been sent off if Mills wasn't sent off, or if we'd won? I doubt it) c) When we win a game, the referee never gets a mention, even if he was shit. Don't get me wrong, and I seem to be repeating myself more and more often, I hate referees, I'm one of the first the go mad at a bad decision but just makes me laugh when they get berated when they've made correct decisions and fans seem to refuse to give and honest assement of the game and the point straight at the referees rather than looking at how we played and questioning that, I must say today, alot of people are saying the referee made the correct decisions and we can't feel hard done by, refreshing, however a few comments seem to be linking up with option b of the above. When we win a game, I guess people are less bothered about refereeing performances, even if they were bad, because they haven't stopped us from getting a positive result. However, in a game like today's, right or wrong, the 2 big refereeing decisions were the changing points in the game. The penalty put Brum into the lead, and the red card made it very hard for us to get back into the game. The other interesting thing, is that we're never sat here talking about how a refereeing decision has helped us win a tight game. Arguably, the Brighton game this season was aided by the red card for their defender, but we were already leading at the time. It would be nice to debate a questionable penalty in our favour, but we haven't been awarded a penalty all season!
Schlupp Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I thought the ref was one sided,But then I had a look a the descions and tbf he did a quality job,Weren't sure about the Kingy incident aswell so good call,Only thing I have to complain about with the ref is Beasounjour should've been sent off imo.Apart from that I can accept we were woefull 2nd half
WardyisPukka Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 As keown said !! there was no need for Mills to go with both feet off the ground!! hes not stupid(or is he) must of known he wud be in trouble for 2 footed chanllenge!! we lost our shape after the sending off and only created small chances in last 20 mins but no cutting edge, lacked width so much it was obvious we needed width but sven didnt see that!! dyer and gally might have made more of a contribution than danns and abe did today! o well onwards and upwards!! we need 3 points on wednesday!! now a chance for st ledger to stop moaning and show us all why he is a first choice ireland cb!!!
Saxondale Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 However Beausejour's was a yellow and King deserved at least an indirect free-kick. Correct. No refs ever, ever, ever give indirect free kicks these days. It's like they've all forgotten that they exist.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Even though mills got the ball he went in with two feet off the ground and studs showing too, it was only ever going to be a red, a stupid mistake and he should know better
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I would never want to be a referee, at top level. They must be crazy to have to put up with so much abuse, and are always in a no win situation. :nono: :nono:
Matt Posted 22 October 2011 Author Posted 22 October 2011 Just gonna bump this up abit, afterall the referee did give them a penalty that 'helped' them win, our players didn't lose the game at all today, was the bastard referee! Again!
