Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Kasper 6 - unlucky with the penalty. Tried to inspire us but to no avail. Peltier 6 - worst game for us, still been a fine signing though so far Konchesky 8 - MOM for me, got forward, him and Dyer actually reminded of times when we attacked with a fluent system. Bamba 4 - Awful, at fault for both goals, could of have gone for first, not picking a single person up on 2nd, never watches the man, just the ball, great in air, liability with a team attacking on the ground. SSL 4 - Stinker. 3rd goal was shameful from a centre half. Abe 4 - Great effort first half but just doesnt seem to be up this level consistently. Johnson 5 - some good things but seemed a bit off the pace. Wellens 4 - err......Richie? King n/a - didnt actually realise he played so can't really mark him. Beckford 4 - everything everyone warned us about, no doubt fantastic with ball at feet, not going to get any effort though, well earned 40k. Nugent 8 - Signing of the summer, fantastic again, will get very frustrated playing up front with JB. Dyer 7 - showed what it's like to want to play for us, deserves to start next week. Provided width and some hope. Vassell 4 - need a goal dun dud dun......2-0 down dun dun duh Who you gonna call????? ermmm...Vassell. Sven - 2 - Gave you an eight in the week for job well done.........but totally inept today, 4 midfielders doing the same job, 2 centre backs in the side while one who is better is out on loan, no Howard or Schulpp on bench, why the need for Pantsil on the bench without another attacking option I have no idea. Hopefully its finally dawned on you you might need wingers to create chances sometimes.
samuel Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Schmeichel - 6 At least tried to keep his team-mates heads up, but distribution wasn't great today, and he didn't seem to have command of his area for the 3rd Peliter 5 - Tried to get forward, but kept having to check back inside and give the ball to a midfield crab, and when he did get free in advanced positions he wasted the chance to do something meaningful Bamba 6 - adequate, didn't see pen clearly enough to include this in rating SSL - 3 And Tunchev is farmed out to Crystal Palace? If your spell here is such a 'nightmare' mate, and you play like this when you get a chance, you can FO back to League One. How you are an international player is almost as big a mystery as what happened to Shergar. Konchesky 4 - good runs forward in the first half, but culpable (along with others) for their second and his second half performance was pretty dire Johnson 6 - ability wise better than anything on show, but found himself dragged down to the level of the rest of the sh*te, particuarly in the second half Wellens 1 - crap set piece after crap set piece, sideways ball after sideways ball. The 1 mark is for the 1 hollywood pass to Peltier that actually landed in front of him - As captain, he's a disgrace King 2 - how he stayed on the pitch is just beyond me today - was given close attention by their midfield, but if he can't make an impact, bring him off the pitch. Very very poor Abe 3 - one of the poorest performances, but i'd have kept him on ahead of Wellens and King Beckford 1 - barely any meaningful contribution, moaned for the last 30 mins of the half, his touch with his back to goal is frankly embarrasing and comparable to Elvis Hammond at his worst. £4m? What an absolute joke. If i never see him play for us again it will be too soon, shocking panic buy and waste of money Nugent 6 - was knackered for most of the second half, because he was the only one showing and looking for the ball in the first 45 minutes. His body language 10 minutes from the end summed up the majority of the crowd - seemed to care unlike most of the others Dyer 6 - tried to make an impact, although delivered balls to no-one through a combination of not looking up and being 5 seconds quicker than anyone else. Gave up with 20 to go unfortunately. Vassell 0 - did he actually do anything of note in the second half? Fernandes Not going to bother. And how that **** deserves to be driving around in a Bentley is another of lifes conundrums!!
harryboi72 Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Kaspar 5 I'd like to see their second again as I think he might have done better. No communication with defence today. I'm sick to death of his aimless long clearances. All he does is give possession back to the opposition. Peltier 4.5 A pretty average display. Probably out of position for their second. Did little going forward. SSL 4 He's just a very average defender. Poor in the air not great on the ground. Slow to get back and should have been better positioned for their second. No apparent understanding between him and Bamba and often out of position. One or two good interceptions but basically shown up by one of the most average attacks I've seen. Bamba 5 Sloppy at times. Out of position for the penalty. Poor game. Should have attacked the corner for their third. He and SSL don't look a good combination. Konchesky 4 Where was he for their second? Really poor quality crosses into the box. Looked very average. Abe 2 A simply dire performance. I've given him an extra mark for at least having one shot but otherwise a totally ineffective performance. Bottled at least two challenges. Wellens 1 Awful corners, awful free kicks awful passing. Consistently slowed the game down when we needed quicker passing. I can't understand why he wasn't subbed at half time. Generally lost most 50/50 challenges. King 2 I can't think of a single positive impact he had on the game. Another of his totally anonymous contributions. Johnson 5 At least he looked like he could play football which is more than the other 3 midfielders. Some nice touches but all in an area which wouldn't hurt the opposition. Not sure he shouldn't be a more attacking option. Nugent 5 Tried his best but had to keep dropping back to the half way line to get the ball in the first half. Beckford 2.5 With an extra sympathy point for the lack of service he got. Not sure he really wants to be here. Pathetic levels of effort. Very poor first touch on numerous occasions. Schlupp would have done just as well today and at least he would have put in some effort. Dyer 6.5 Mainly for effort. We improved when he came on. However with the exception of a couple of decent crosses his balls into the box were poor and his lack of ability with his right foot is a major handicap. Vassell 4.5 Didn't really seem to do a great deal. Fernandes 5 Not on soon enough. At least showed some energy. A performance the players and management team should be ashamed of. It was peltier's job to mark at the back post seen as the cross came from Konchesky's side
Fox92 Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Schmeichel 5 - Forced upon a couple of times but picked the ball out of the net 3 times. It must be frustrating. Peltier 5 Bamba 4 - When Mills is back, get Bamba out. St Ledger 5 - Its not his fault he was marking Henderson. Where are our scouts? Konchesky 5 - Got forward and crossing was good but I felt like he couldn't get back. Abe 5 Wellens 4 Johnson 6 - Calm on the ball. King 3 - Laughable, again. Invisible. Beckford 2 -Lazy Saturday afternoon Beckford. Nugent 5 - Looked frustrated as he did try but nothing came off. Personally, I want to see Wellens, Abe and King all dropped. I'd bring in Danns, Dyer and Vassell in midfield who will all inject pace. Don't really want Bamba in but Mills is out, bu my preferred defensive partneship is St Ledger and Mills.
Fmfox Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 I thought dyers deliveries were ok - he put them between the penalty spot and 6 yard line which is where you should put it. Nugent king and vassel should have timed their runs better?
bald reynard Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Schmeichel - 7 (MotM) - no chance with the goals, tried so hard to 'gee up' team Peltier - 6 - very average today St Ledger - 5 - disappeared (Henderson must have thought it's his birthday) Bamba - 6.5 - still our best defender Konchesky - 6.5 - worked hard, up and down the field Wellens - 6 - OK in the first half Johnson - 5 - poor (and so slow - but at least a bit of skill) King - 5 - as Johnson (not so slow - but far less skill) Abe - 6 - OK, we missed him when he went off though Nugent - 6 - tried as hard as ever, but no service Beckford - 5 - poor, but no service (and not as good as Nugent) Dyer - 6 - tried hard, but he does lack the skill needed (for the winger we desperately need) Vassell - 6 - worked as hard as ever (but is he really a goalscorer ?) Fernandes - 6 - as Peltier Sven - 4 - disastrous team selection and tactics
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 They should re-name this thread ...........Forum Members Ratings !!
surrifox Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 The worst performance from a City side that I can recall, atrocious! Schmeichel - 6 Not his usual faultless game, but totally committed. Peltier - 6 Steady performance Konchesky - 7.5 Had a lot of the ball in the 1st half & caused Milwall problems. Bamba - 6 He's missing Mills imo SSL - 5 Can't see him keeping his place. Wellens - 3 Very poor game. King - 1 Was he actually on the pitch? Abe - 3 Not really involved, was obvious that he had to be taken off. May have suffered injury? Johnson - 7 Looking good & will get better with more game time. Nugent - 7 Works hard, covers a lot of ground. Beckford - Judging on his performances so far, not at all impressed. Don't feel that he belongs in a City shirt! Subs, Vassell 5 , Dyer 4, Fernandes n/a MOTM not one !!! I hope that Sven will start with Nugent & Vassell against West Ham, bring in Schlupp in place of Beckford. Get Tunchev back from C/Palace Sven! A cultured defender. good plan. CPFC are flying let's get Tunchev back for a few weeks and have every bit of ability , enterprise and talent removed in the way other decent players have on exposure to the LCFC school of science. Then we can return him!

somebum Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Since nobody has rated the Big Svender, I will - 1
Mack Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 I've got to say that I believe the biggest problem is our system. And I'm starting to wonder if the players are also starting to question it, and that is a factor in why we played the way we did yesterday. I am not going to waste keystrokes on rating that sack of shit yesterday.
acooling08 Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Diamond isn't working. Danns needs to come in for Wellens or Abe. I thought Bamba was very good except for conceding the penalty.
dog_4 Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 dyers delivery was alot better yesterday! had height and hitting the middle of the box everytime! no one running in everytime though unfortunately!
mackiepas Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 HOW CAN ANYONE RATE SSL WORSE THEN BAMBA? SSL - 7 - Why the hate? Thought he did what was asked and kept motivated. Agree totally.
reynard Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 It was peltier's job to mark at the back post seen as the cross came from Konchesky's side Exactly. He was caught so far out of position their player had nobody anywhere near him and so had plenty of time to put in the cross.
acooling08 Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Exactly. He was caught so far out of position their player had nobody anywhere near him and so had plenty of time to put in the cross. Peltier and Konch were both too advanced.. the main issue with using wingbacks instead of wide midfielders.
