Samilktray Posted 6 December 2011 Posted 6 December 2011 I'll never understand why people care about the charts. If you enjoy an artists music, why does it matter if they've had a number 1, has absolutely no baring on you. (This isn't a dig at MikeyT)

purpleronnie Posted 6 December 2011 Posted 6 December 2011 I guess its just saying the vast majority like shit music.
Fox92 Posted 6 December 2011 Posted 6 December 2011 And I'll also add that I hate how people enter programs such as X Factor, win, get songs wrote for them, don't perform them live and they still reach number one. I hate it when I see these 'winners' such as JLS, who have to have the music in their ear to sing along too instead of playing an instrument and playing it live.

I literally saw a friend post this on Facebook so thought I'd share. And no worries mate, I never thought it was.
AdamN Posted 6 December 2011 Posted 6 December 2011 The top rated comments on that article are basically spot on. It's an incredibly warped way of looking at it. I mean when you think about it, many of those artists have enjoyed huge success in the charts anyway. Who can honestly say they've never heard a song by Nirvana, The Beatles, Queen, Elvis or Michael Jackson (perhaps the greatest pop star of all time)? Personally I couldn't give a rat's arse what's topping the charts. The fact is, anything that does enter the top 40 obviously has mass appeal, so who are we as individuals to say that such material shouldn't be there?
Rocket-Ron Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 I guess its just saying the vast majority like shit music. Or more people like k$sha than the Beatles
Callabinho Posted 13 December 2011 Posted 13 December 2011 I wouldn't read much into this, plus the one main flaw is, the era that's then, this is now. I was involved in an argument once, a group of people stated music like Floyd, Yes, Nirvana and co are nothing but noise. Yet they happily listen to Dubstep. Being a producer and working with music everyday of my life I naturally had to give in... But the fact is Dubstep is actually noise warped sounds most commonly organs. It will be increasingly difficult to get people to understand music now, since X-factor and one direction are around ruining everything. Anyway if you get a kick out of listening to smells like teen spirit **** it, turn it up to 11.
JadeFalcon Posted 17 December 2011 Posted 17 December 2011 any they say piracy is killing the music industry
