MC Prussian Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 He can operate in all areas of midfield, but with his pace and energy, I'd love to see him being played as a winger more often in the near future. I don't see Fernandes as a playmaker/midfield maestro. He doesn't seem to have the vision of, say, a Michael Johnson. EDIT: Krimbinho, whereabouts in Switzerland are you from?
paulsherwood1 Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Typical over reaction from our fans! 4 goals in a reserve outing and all of a sudden he is Pele!!!! Within the debate above there are some valid points, but one game / performance doesnt make it the future! City`s problem over the past couple of years has been the midfield, and to be honest, despite me quite liking him, Wellens has never lived up to what we expected. He is a solid central midfielder, and despite the tough image he tries to portray, his playing style is not that of a tough combative midfielder. He is like Neil Lennon without the aggression. With King being quite lightweight we dont have the agression that some of the championship games deserve. Its all well and good when the opposition gives us too much respect ( Derby for example ) and wellens and co are left alone, but when teams come and snap around their heels ( millwall, Bristol City etc ) they `dont like it up em` mr Mannering!! So, Is Gelson the answer? Don`t know, but worth a try. Stick him in for Wellens this week, but just dont expect the poor sod to score 4 goals...... I can hear the phone in now........ "over to Mick from Coalville...... Mick what do you think of Gelsons hat trick?" " Dont rate that Fernandez, he scored 4 at the weekend but he gets his chance and only scores 3, he`s not good enough for us"

Schaffhausen, near the German border. Where the Munot and the Rheinfall are.
MC Prussian Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Schaffhausen, near the German border. Where the Munot and the Rheinfall are. But that's my 'hood!

MC Prussian Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Hahaha you live in Schaffhausen?! You're kidding me aren't you? I was just about to say the same, but... it's all true. I live five minutes away from the train station. Feels like talking to my mirror image...

MC Prussian Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 I live on the Breite, 5 minutes from the football stadium... Damn, this is getting really odd - I'm two minutes away from the Bühlplatz and five from the Breite Stadium as well!

Corky Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Typical over reaction from our fans! 4 goals in a reserve outing and all of a sudden he is Pele!!!! Not really an over reaction. Many have said they felt Fernandes would fit into the side and has been played out of position (the left side of the diamond being the most baffling), and would possibly work in a partnership with King.
Babylon Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 Schaffhausen?! I live there too!!!!! It is near Wigston isn't it?
