Jace Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I think we have been doomed ever since that day we were sitting top of the Premiership and Man Utd smashed us at Filbert Street, we have never recovered from that....

Well, you could go back before that to the day Taylor was appointed. I'm going to sound like a hypocrite now because I have been posting about sticking with managers, however there are two who I believed should never have been given the opportunity in the first place and that is Taylor and Sousa. I was living in Southend on the day I heard Taylor was appointed and just shouted "NOOO". He had made a complete horlicks of being a manager at Southend and had gained a reputation as Under 21's coach which is a completely different job. It still pains me that all O'Neills fine work was undone by a decision that could have been avoided with half an hour's homework.
flowwolf Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 At least my bouncing Avatar is back, Please note any `immature` posters on here look away as it might spoil you tea... Have you got one of a clapping fanny ?
inckley fox Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 And if Sven had stayed and we were in a similar position (likely) it would have been the fans and Wellens' fault. We shouldn't have appointed Sven at all. Or Sousa. THOSE were our mistakes Exactly.
Saxondale Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I think we have been doomed ever since that day we were sitting top of the Premiership and Man Utd smashed us at Filbert Street, we have never recovered from that.... Losing to Wycombe in the cup. That was the day.
Guy Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Wasn't it just! I was Steve Brown's postman back then too (when I lived in Northampton), who so happened to be one of Wycombe's most prominent players that day......later to become their cult hero I believe during that mid 2000s cult heroes series the BBC were running. City have been on a downward spiral ever since, save for a brief return to the Prem. under Micky Adams - and that was only because points docking for going into administration still didn't apply in 2002!
