credit card insurance

Its possible but not guaranteed most if not all credit cards come with payment protection services anyway unlike debit cards automatically. You need to check the terms with card provider to see what your card insurance covers

Are you talking about TRAVEL insurance or Credit Card refunds?

IMO, chase the travel agent first, most will let you change your flights if you explain they were booked in error. If that's not the case check the terms and conditions. Doubt you would get anything out of the Credit Card company if it's your error, likewise with travel insurance.

What are the details - are the flights non changeable? Have you taken it up with the airline/agent? What was their response?

If the flights aren't changeable, and it was your error... I would be amazed if a credit card company insured you against something like that.

Get him to get his missus to call the airline and turn on the waterworks

lol I was actually going to suggest this. :D

My mate booked it. Think I'm going to have to take up the mantle. The flights are non changeable as he supposed to have booked em for the france game in donetsk. It's their policy to not transfer flights- despite the fact at the time of booking, both flights were the same value

Ask if you can claim for a couple of hand drills as well
