nothin2seehere Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 I've got a job interview coming up tomorrow for a storage (SAN) analyst. It's a long shot but if there's anyone here who does this sort of work, or has any interview tips they can remember, let me know N.

It's a long shot but if there's anyone here who does this sort of work, or has any interview tips they can remember, let me know N. Try and think of the most likely questions you're gonna get asked and then prepare and learn an answer or at least the framework to one for each question, starting with the most likely/most obvious, That would be my advice. Good luck mate
Alexikokopops Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 I'm an analyst, but not a storage analyst. Still, we analysts can't afford to be fussy. I'm all yours darling.
nothin2seehere Posted 31 January 2012 Author Posted 31 January 2012 I'm only a /specialist/ at the moment. A lowly specialist. I can only dream of the possibilities! Thanks Alex. Yes, I'm making a list of the top 10 questions I think I'm going to be asked and preparing an answer for each one.

Saxondale Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Good luck mate, I also have a job interview tomorrow!
z-layrex Posted 31 January 2012 Posted 31 January 2012 Id suppose as with any interview, make sure you can list your strengths and weakness, say where you're looking to be in 5 years. And remember to ask them questions about the position. Dress smart, and be there early. Good luck!

Basingstoke Fox Posted 1 February 2012 Posted 1 February 2012 Woohoo hooray for the geeks! I work in the industry but just as a mere 1st line help desk engineer. Don't really do an awful lot of work to do with SAN's though. As for the interview, I'd recommend going for the book 'Great answers to tough interview questions'. It's basically got the perfect answer to hundreds of potential questions and all different types of situations. Though I have to say that some of these 'perfect' answers are cringeworthy to say the least.
nothin2seehere Posted 2 February 2012 Author Posted 2 February 2012 Thanks Basingstoke Fox. I'll look into that for the next interview! Yesterday's however went almost as well as I could have hoped; I will find out next week if I have the job.
