Guest Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 PT on RL this morning said he was determined to get Heath. Don't give up!!
Random Burglar Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 Hes a fantastic player.........HEATH FOR ENGLAND!!!!!
ForeverBlue Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 Some people have short memories. Matt Heath was part of our strongest defensive partnerships for some time. He is a Leicester lad through and through, maybe he isn't good enough but most peoples attitude to him now he is veiwed as surplus to requirements sums up everything that is bad about LCFC fans in general. Have a word with yourselves.
Kingy Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 i would agree with that comment. Heath is surplus to requirements. Its good were keeping hold of Stearman.

If we want to progress as a club, we need to flog the dead wood and get players in who can actually play. McCarthy is a case in point, if we can get for heath what we paid for him, I will piss myself. There is simply no comparing the two.

However there does seem to be a distinct lack of 'good luck to him' etc etc in favour of 'He's crap, piss off' which is disappointing to me and I would imagine to him too considering he is a local lad and has always given us 100%. People would do well to remember some of the vital goals he socred in our last promotion season.

I would also like to know why events form over two years ago should have a significant bearing on my current opinion.
Thracian Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 about 100-200k I'd imagine. 131701 i'd say that's a fair price 131702 thats a joke price 131708 Hope that shit PT doesn't have the gall to quibble over any fee for Heath --- he owes us a bloody fortune.

Not any time, for any amount. In fact I wouldn't do anything that helped or encouraged him to stick around football in any sort of capacity. When Jesus spoke of forgiveness I can't believe he meant it to include anyone like Peter Taylor.

Steven Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 When Jesus spoke of forgiveness I can't believe he meant it to include anyone like Peter Taylor. 132122 I believe he did. However I have no problem with never forgiving PT. I do have to say on the other hand, there will be a time when the effects of his being here will fade away then PT will be merely irrelevant.
Ric Flair Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 If we can flog Heath to Hull for £100,000 it will be the iceing on the cake. I know £100,000 doesn't sound that much, but when you compare Heath to Stephen Hughes, Paddy McCarthy and alot of other players who've signed for clubs for that fee it's hilarious. Cheers Matt for chipping in with some good goals. The harsh reality is, you won't be missed.

Thanks anyway. The thought's a comforting one. Perhaps a few wins and a top of the table challenge will be the perfect anticote.
Scow Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 Heath tried his best, but he simply wasn't/isn't good enough. CL has adopted a ruthless policy with players like Heath and Stewart - He can see they're not the required quality. Whereas someone like Adams thought the former would be our future captain, which speaks volumes. If Heath goes, then good luck to him, but I for one won't miss him one bit. He's just an all round poor player, who is useful from the odd set-piece. His heading is more effective in the opposition's box than his own.
BartonFox Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 He was saved from a lot of grief because he was a Leicester lad and fan and that glossed over his many failings as a defender. I won't be sorry when he goes and I will look forward to us playing against him because his lack of concentration is worth a goal a game to the opposition. I'd take 25k and be happy.
Teeno Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 I think some have been unfair on Heath, I think he is capable at this level but I don't think he is good enough for our starting 11. He isn't a bad player but like Scowy said Levein has a ruthless policy where being an ok player isn't good enough. Whereas Micky was happy to have 11 starting players and another 15 useless squad players. Craig is very much different, he wants 20-22 players all of a similar good standard.
Steven Posted 6 July 2005 Posted 6 July 2005 Heath has his fans. Heath is well known to City boss Micky Adams from his time in charge at Leicester and Adams told the Coventry website: "We are presently in talks with Matt about joining Coventry City." Hull City are also keen on a deal for the centre-half. Source
