Babylon Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 I'm gonna cut lcfcsnow some slack here and say that he's got a point. We all identified the midfield as our problem position and it hasn't been sorted out. It's a shambles that we are still having to play Dyer or Gally even when both aren't performing. Dyer has got to be replaced. I don't really care how young Marshall's been or how long he's been here, it was not an option to plan for next season in January. Even Pearson said that himself last night, the season should not be over from his or the squad's point of view. So if he's bought him, it's because he's good enough. Ok lets forget how long the new signings have been here and how old they are, and what personal stuff they might have been dealing with off the field, and lets forget about integrating people slowly into the team, letting them get to know their team mates and train with them a bit more. With all of that forgotten, why the flying feck would Pearson change the team after what were two decent performances in my eyes against Boro and Cardiff? I'm in no way defending Sven but we weren't far off the play-offs when he left and they were still achievable when Pearson came in. I've been disappointed, not just with what he did in the transfer window or the overall picture, but his decisions in individual games as well. We were lower in the league than we are now when Sven got sacked, and if he had stayed and achieved the ppg ratio he was, then we would be one place better off than we are now.
flowwolf Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 When NP says "If I hear anyone talking about season's being over... there'll be serious repercussions". Isn't he referring to the players and their attitude?? Thats how I heard it. As in if he hears that from the players and they have a 'nothing to play for' mentality there'll be serious repercussions for them. To be fair the players wouldn't have to say it they have already done it. The season IS over.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Mr. Pearson's interview was not good, to say the very least. Cracks are um, err, um um, err. err. beginning to um, show now. He is, I think, a very worried manager.
MPH Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Did Sven love them? He had a whole summer to replace them and still ended up playing them. Lets stop with this BS that Pearson has somehow done something different to what Sven was in playing those two. The only player to come in from the cold is Dyer, and that's because we want to play 4-4-2. We'll get more wingers in the Summer. If i remember correctly Sven gave them improved contracts too....
Babylon Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Nigel Pearson, seemed pretty pissed off on radio made two references to changes, which players do people think have now annoyed him who he might have been referring too. Did notice on twitter some apologies from players for this evening. Seems like he might not be able to make many changes considering the injuries and the fact Pantsil and Bamba have gone walk about and not returned from the ACON.
