Steven Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 Leicester manager Craig Levein has revealed he is hopeful of bringing in two more players by the end of next week. The Foxes missed out on the signing of Bury striker Colin Kazim-Richards as he opted to sign for Brighton, and are still looking to strengthen their squad despite securing the services of Patrick Kisnorbo, Paul Henderson, Rab Douglas and Momo Sylla. The Scottish tactician is still keen to bolster his backline after Leicester struggled somewhat last term, and, after missing out on Celtic new boy Mo Camara, Levein revealed he has two potential deals in the pipeline - with both players as yet unnamed. After losing Jordan Stewart to Championship rivals Watford the Leicester boss is keen to keep up his efforts and sustain the recruitment drive as he reshapes his squad in time for the pre-season campaign. "There are a lot of things going on behind the scenes and, by the end of next week, there could be one or two more out and one or two in," Levein told the Leicester Mercury. "I would imagine by then that things will have settled down a bit. "The plan was for everything to be in place for the start of pre-season but plans do not always work out, although I am getting there. "I have two possibilities for the centre back position and hopefully they will work out in our favour. "I am 75 percent confident in both of them but until they have actually signed on the dotted line anything can happen. "Obviously with Jordan Stewart's move the left side now becomes a priority." filbertway Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 I'm guessing one of them is johansson, and the other the kilmarnock stiker swapping with canero. With heath also going?

Louise Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 I don't mean to pick on you Steven as other people do it too, but those are just quotes from the Merc/OS on friday that have been posted here before. It's tedious enough having to read them over again on the news sites without having them posted on here many times.

Steven Posted 4 July 2005 Author Posted 4 July 2005 That department could also soon lose Matt Heath, who is the subject of interest from Championship rivals Hull and Plymouth.I understand that Peter Taylor's Hull outfit have put in a bid for the Leicester-born 23-year-old that fell below City's valuation and now the former Foxes boss looks like facing competition for his target. Levein will still not reveal his own targets as he works towards strengthening his squad in time for the start of the pre-season friendlies at Kettering on Sunday. And he insists that there could be more departures as well following Stewart's surprise £125,000 switch to Watford. I know it is from the Mercury, but not everyone might see it. Source

PRIOR09 Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 Give him time, we have signed more players than most teams so far, there is still 4 weeks till the beginning of the season, get worried if we have still only got 4 new players with 2 weeks left of pre-season.
a circus of imbeciles Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 No mercury here either, but would I buy it if in Leicester? Squad of only 21 's a bit scary .... but he SAYS he' getting more ... why would a player choose Brighton over City? That's a lot scary
Gené and Tonic Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 We don't know for definate that he was offered a contract. He just came on trial; maybe Levein didn't want him?
