mitch_lcfc_1993 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Hi everyone, I am knew to this forum but have supported Leicester all my life. I am going to the Forest game tonight and was just wandering if anybody knew how many will be there? will it be over 25,000? Also, who would you go with in CM to replace Danns? Personally I would go with Bamba, he adds that stability to the midfield and relieves the defence of constant pressure. Up the Foxes

Up the Foxes Bamba has played a sum total of 25 minutes in midfield this season. How would anyone know if he provides 'stability'? He has also made a point of saying that he doesn't like to play in midfield.
blue army 1988 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 I think DD and Bamba would be a better option than DD and King as they are two much of the same player and there is no cover to help out the back 4

The SPL and the Championship are well renowned for being a direct comparison to one another, eh? It doesn't matter what he did at Hibs. He hasn't played in midfield for a good two years and openly dislikes it. Why are people so insistant in forcing square pegs into round holes?!
mitch_lcfc_1993 Posted 27 March 2012 Author Posted 27 March 2012 I think he is more of a midfield player, due to his unpredictability he is too much of a risk at the back, therefore if he was put in midfield I believe he would offer strength and consistent performance which would stabalise the whole team in terms of the amount of goals we are leaking in. With Bamba in there, we know he can defend and we effectively have 5 defenders on the field, but also with him having the midfield role we know he likes to go forward and with his new role we won't get caught out at the back. Maybe stability was the wrong word but I think with him at CM with Drinkwater we would reduce the amount of goals we are letting in and as blue army 1988 said, DD and King are too similar and neither can offer both the defensive and attacking options that Bamba 'COULD' bring to the squad. I appreciate that he has only played 20 minutes at CM so it probably was wrong to jump to the conclusion he would offer stability. I am not saying that Bamba got us the 3 points on Saturday but once he came on in midfield, if he did not stop the Hull attacks he at least slowed them down, and I believe that we would of lost that game earlier in the season, if say DD and Danns (even though he had been sent off) due to neither being able to offer much support to the back 4 whereas there is no doubt Bamba can offer this support.

blue army 1988 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 He's not my ideal candidate to put in midfield and he claims he dosn't like it. But i think he will do a good enough job as cover. He's a proffesional so if the gaffa tells him to go in midfield for a game or two he will.

Good post I guess it is more of a constancy factor if Bamba can perform too a high standard in the next couple of games in midfield then more people will concur with that notion.
mitch_lcfc_1993 Posted 27 March 2012 Author Posted 27 March 2012 Obviously, I am talking of doing this in the short term to see how it goes, ideally we would have Danns and DD in CM but due to suspensions and injuries, the only real options at CM are DD, Bamba, King (not played in months so going to struggle?) and Wellens who I believe is injured at the moment. With the limited choices you have to look at Bamba and DD as both offer something different to the squad. My starting 11 for Forest: Schmeichel Peltier SSL Morgan Konchesky Marshall Dyer Bamba Danny Drinkwater Nugent Beckford

Dont think you can get a better team at the moment with all the injuries and suspensions we have. Up the foxes :city:
