Ashley Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 So it is the start of Aintree today, anyone got any major fancies in the upcoming races? There is obviously Big Bucks today. I've been told Hunt Ball is worth a shout also.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 Tiday Bay e/w first race. Never in my life would I back a horse as short as Big Bucks
Ashley Posted 12 April 2012 Author Posted 12 April 2012 Someone somewhere in this country has just placed £500,000 on Big Bucks at 1/5 with William Hill!
goose2010 Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 Bet the bookies just made that money back in the 3:05 50/1 winner crazy stuff!
AoWW Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 Bet the bookies just made that money back in the 3:05 50/1 winner crazy stuff! Indeed, that will certainly have put a smile on the bookies' faces.
AoWW Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 Abysmal start for the amateurs. Starter right to call it a false start.
Ashley Posted 12 April 2012 Author Posted 12 April 2012 £21.01 up today so far not bad I suppose. Don't know wether to go with Kid Cassidy at 17/2 in the next race.
m00nie Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 shit day for me.. about £40 down.. need Veiled to win the last for me to put me right..
Matt Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 Had a Big Bucks, Grumeti, Riverside Theatre, Kid Cassidy lucky 15, Big Bucks and Grumeti won the other 2 didn't so got about £5 back on that, was about £4 down on that bet. Then I had Tidal Bay E/W and a Burton Port/My Way De Solzen E/W Double of which none won so in total about £8 down not great but too bad I suppose... ...I'll win it back tomorrow and the day after
Matt Posted 12 April 2012 Posted 12 April 2012 Tough decision tomorrow @ 3.05 Albertas Run going head to head with Forpadydeplaterer going head to head with Finians Rainbow who ran a great race at Cheltenham. I'll make a final decision tomorrow but reckon i'll probably go with Albertas Run purely because I this horse, done me well in the past, ran a great second at Cheltenham, might have a small E/W on Forpadydeplasterer, seemed to struggle abit at Cheltenham. Although i'm sure I was told Cheltenham form goes out the window for Aintree, not many horses that ran well at Cheltenham don't do very well at Aintree so I was told not really looked into it much.
Matt Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Anyone on albertus run ?? Put Finians Rainbow in a Lucky 15, Had £10 E/W on Albertas Run and £1 E/W on Forpadydeplaster. You watch, none will come in!
goose2010 Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Put Finians Rainbow in a Lucky 15, Had £10 E/W on Albertas Run and £1 E/W on Forpadydeplaster. You watch, none will come in! I had 10ew on albertus and 5ew on Poquelin so between we have half the field nearly!!
m00nie Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Anyone on albertus run ?? i was on it.. to win templegates nap in the 4,15 is forgotten gold @ 28/1.. cant work that out seems bit wierd, was thinking maybe hes selected wrong F by mistake as Fingal bay looks like the one.. had to have a go e/w on it just in case as he picked the 1st 3 right so far..
Teeno Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Had a treble on Darlan, Finians Rainbow & Fingal Bay at about 14/1 2/3 So Far just hope Fingal Bay can remain unbeaten!
Matt Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Always Waining! Get in! £4 e/w! £31.50 back. Looked like he was falling back a few times but always came back to the front runners, great race! Just need Fingal Bay to win now and I can have some fun with my bets tomorrow.

Matt Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Fingal Bay 2nd, thought he was going to win, oh well had the E/W bet so still won, shame, but still about £15 to £20 up over the 2 days so far.
Simmo86 Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Fingal Bay 2nd, thought he was going to win, oh well had the E/W bet so still won, shame, but still about £15 to £20 up over the 2 days so far. Thought he was going to tear up Anyway 2/4 in my Lucky 15 with 2 places shit return
Matt Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Thought he was going to tear up Anyway 2/4 in my Lucky 15 with 2 places shit return Pretty much the same 2 winners, 2 places in my Lucky 15, So got about £6 profit on it, I will win one of these soon! Last few months i've been doing Lucky 15's and i've found I don't win an awful lot (Mainly because i've never had 4 winners) but it is a case of damage limitation, I seem to always get something back on them, not necesserily profit but it's not as much as i'd lose betting on the horses as singles, When 4 horses do win they can win you alot, but i'm yet to experience this! Lucky 15's are certainly better than accumulators.
Matt Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Be careful who you bet with tomorrow for the National, It seems most bookies are only offering 4 places, which pathetic, you want 5 atleast I think, Victor Chandler are the only bookmakers offering 6 places as far I know, unfortunatly I don't really want to set up another online account as I already have 2 and I just prefer to go in the shop, so I can't be getting the 6th place. Will Hill, Coral, Ladbrokes, Betfred are only offering 4 places (Although i've just been on the Betfred website and they are only offering 4 places but if your horse finishes 5th or 6th they will refund the losing place part of your E/W bet as a free bet up to £100 - But after looking into this offer it is an online offer only.) Stan James, Sky Bet are offering 5 places. Victor Chandler as I said are offering 6 places.
