IdiotequeFox Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 http://bit.ly/IsLc1N - The S*n If Villa stay up they want Lambert, if they go down they want McKay. Personally I can see this happening, McKay would want a challenge to get'em back up, and I remember Lambert doing the dirty on Colchester.
Dan Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 I actually tipped this one ages back, had a feeling Lambert would get linked with a bigger club under-achieving, like Villa, I also said he'd jump, he's not the most loyal. Would be a shame really as the job he's done at Norwich is terrific.
Sharmania Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Lambert is so unproven though. Prove me wrong but I can't see him getting past the likes of Kompany or Vidic!
IdiotequeFox Posted 27 April 2012 Author Posted 27 April 2012 Lambert is so unproven though. Prove me wrong but I can't see him getting past the likes of Kompany or Vidic! Not Ricky Lambert, Paul
Guesty Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Don't know why a manager would go there unless it was up a division, the fans seem to turn on every manager. Even Martin O'Neill got stick there with a lot of fans saying he wasn't a big enough name when he came and happy when he left. Bet they ain't so chipper now. If I was Lambert I'd wait to see how Norwich go instead of jumping to Villa, not like they are even spending money anymore. I
Fox92 Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Looking at the fixtures, Aston Villa will stay up in my opinion. Although a bit of me would like them to get relegated because it would be a decent away game, massive ground. But why did Lambert do the dirty on Colchester? He finished his first season mid table, and then won the first game of the next season (7-1). Norwich City, a much bigger club, offered him the job and he took it. I probably would have in his situation. He actually resigned at Wycombe before Colchester.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Why would Lambert want to go really? Bigger club. Lambert is so unproven though. Prove me wrong but I can't see him getting past the likes of Kompany or Vidic! There on about the manager
Jimothy Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 My understanding was Lambert went to Norwich, after drubbing them 7-1 with Colchester and getting Bryan Gunn the sack, because he had a connection with the club, not because they were bigger.
IdiotequeFox Posted 27 April 2012 Author Posted 27 April 2012 Why would Lambert want to go really? No disrespect to Norwich, but Aston Villa are the bigger club, regardless of league position, they have drastically under achieved and should be challenging for Europe every season, where as Norwich have peaked.
Corky Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Lambert won't leave Norwich yet, he's got everything in place to carry on. A full ground every week, quite low expectations (that will change in time), solid backing behind him.
Sharmania Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Bigger club. There on about the manager WHOOPS!!!
Fox92 Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 My understanding was Lambert went to Norwich, after drubbing them 7-1 with Colchester and getting Bryan Gunn the sack, because he had a connection with the club, not because they were bigger. Well, whatever. They are still a bigger club than Colchester.
Jimothy Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Well, whatever. They are still a bigger club than Colchester. Of course they are, I was making more of a point about the fact he left Colchester to go to a club he loved, not a just because they are bigger, and I don't think he'll walk away from Norwich for a job like Villa.
Leicesterpool Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Lambert I think would do a great job at Villa, if he stayed at Norwich his job would be to keep Norwich in the premier league, if he joined Villa he could be challenging for europe plus a better a chance of winning a trophy, and more players would be more interested to join villa than they would going to Norwich

Get good revenue from crowds, sold - Barry, Milner, Young, Downing all for big money and the only replacement of any value I can remember them buying was N'Zogbia (whose shit). Probably won't be long till Bents sold. I think they're a club in decline and Lerners given up on them and gone back to his NFL team.
