chris_lcfc_85 Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 With the signing of Matt James and playing 4-4-2 as NP prefers, surely one of the centre mids will be sold? Drinkwater/James are new leaving Danns/Wellens/King. 5 for 2 positions is alot really imo but who knows.... I know most of you would all like to see Danns for sure but realistically would NP keep him? Im guessing he's on the biggest wage. Im also aware Wellens is injured but he'll be back early next season to be fair
foxesfan1989 Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 I think a defender will have to go too. I am unsure about the future of SSL as he said he has to start playing first team football every week.
Captain... Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 I think that any and all of those not signed by NP this time round could go, some because they want out, others because we want them out. As much as I don't want to think about it even Kasper or Nugent could go with right offer, the rest of them have been so hit and miss that I think any offer will be considered and most likely accepted then a cheaper better replacement found.
Inter Foxes Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 I think Wellens will only play bit part next season, Danns is quality and needs to stay but can't see Danns and King starting together unless NP is thinking of different system ie 3 in Midfield with 1 striker and 2 wide forwards !! We are still chasing Stewart from Hull, And I think as team we lack width and our delivery into the box was poor last season. Maybe Big Np toying with 3 Central defenders again, I think over next few weeks we will see players leave such as Vassell,Bamba,Beckford,Mills,SSL(Which is Mistake) We need to bring in couple of players that have experience of premeirship football rather than Potential premeirshipship players !! We also need to look at Players like Gally,Waghorn,Vassell, etc who spend alot of time injured !!

You can't really say Vassell and Waghorn should go becasue of recent injuries, they we're out for a while but you can hardly blame them.

We do need more width to be fair, another Ben Marshall would do! Hopefully we wont pay over the odds though for someone. I dont think he'll sell Mills, Bamba and SSL. He'll keep at least 1 of those, maybe 2 i think but we'll see i guess. Potential Prem players CAN work. Look at Southampton/Reading last season. Both sides have alot of players with Prem potential. Experience isnt everything. Waghorn and Vass should still play for me next season, good players to have in the squad
Adster Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 Personally, I think King will be sold. My own opinion, before you all start slating me.
RonnieTodger Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 Sven did tend to play Danns out wide and Pearson has done the same with Drinkwater when we're short on wingers so I think there's a chance of all 5 of them staying put.
Fox92 Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 I'm not sure if you're/we're reading too much in to it, I mean, does it mean we are actually selling/going to sell a midfielder just because we have signed a midfielder?... Wellens is currently injured, and I can see him playing a part next season when ready. Although he is getting older, and probably won't/can't play every week, he still keeps the ball better than the other midfielders. It was reported that Nigel wanted Danns for Hull City, and he was the manager that moved him to his natural position of central midfield, where he stood out. Drinkwater and James are the newer of the midfielders, so I cannot see those four leaving. That leaves King, our weakest midfielder (in my opinion), and although he has been a good servant and has scored some essential goals for us, he is too weak and gets knocked off of the ball to easy. I cannot see any of them leaving. Ok, there are five players for probably two central midfield positions, but, no manager/club can estimate suspensions, and especially injuries, throughout the season.

Yeah i take your point to be fair. Was just a general ask really to see what people thought. One of the first things NP said when he arrived was about there being too many central midfielders...... so hence why i asked. Guess time will tell!
