MC Prussian Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 I thought the EURO 2012 organisation once stated that most or all games were sold out. Whenever I watch the games on telly, there's usually a rather large section of the stadium with little to no spectators (Poland and Ukraine matches excluded). Ukrainian EURO director Markijan Lubkivski was allegedly very surprised about the lack of interest from football fans: "I can't understand why we've officially sold out on paper, but people just don't seem to show up." I wonder how hard it is to get tickets on the spot over there, how much they officially cost and what the situation is with the black market. Pretty shambolic situation all in all, if you ask me. But I guess some people just can't be bothered to pay that much money for football tickets.
Finnegan Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Touting gone wrong maybe? Loads bought to be resold but not enough people buying them second hand?
Zingari Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Lots of people( who get free tickets anyway) might be boycotting the tournament in support of Yulia Tymoshenko
Guest MattP Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Pretty standard stuff now considering how many tickets sponsors get their hands on. Unless it's a massive event now I hardly bother buying a ticket in advance for anything, just turn up and you'll get one at face value or slightly less.
Zingari Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Milf politician. Mmmm. you ain't wrong I wonder if they'd be so concerned if she looked like Anne Widdecombe
Trav Le Bleu Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 I would love to have a go on her. Are you still talking about Anne Widdecombe?

Seems to be the same at every major sporting event nowadays.
stripeyfox Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 I think empty seats are not unique to this championships. even when "football came home" at Euro 96 the attendances, on the whole, were very poor...
