Corky Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 I know I've harped on in the OP about Bopara, but surely it's time for Taylor to get a decent run in the side. Time to cout our losses and give someone else a go. Hales is in the T20 so he might come in, open with Cook and move Bell to 3.
marko Posted 29 June 2012 Author Posted 29 June 2012 Decent total with some excellent hitting by Morgan at the end. Hopefully the bowlers can back it up.
Captain... Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 This looks like being a tense finish, too close to call at the moment, if Smith and Clarke stay in, they should get the total, but a couple more wickets, and we have to be favourites.
Guest MattP Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 Looks ok now, can't see their tail standing up to our bowlers at over 7 an over.
marko Posted 29 June 2012 Author Posted 29 June 2012 Think the run-rate is probably just beyond them now. Especially given the lack of experience, with the exception of Clarke.
purpleronnie Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 I'll never dismiss the aussies, this might be close. Hope not though.
marko Posted 29 June 2012 Author Posted 29 June 2012 Suicidal, especially after they'd just started to hit out a bit.
Captain... Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 We needed that run out, I was starting to get nervous.
marko Posted 29 June 2012 Author Posted 29 June 2012 Start the car, game over now that Clarke's gone.
Guest MattP Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 Just feels natural to beat the Aussies now, no big deal. Great times.
Corky Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 Felt something was missing though. Probably just the Barmy Army serenading Mitchell Johnson throwing the ball down in all directions.
purpleronnie Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 We're so good at home its just when we play abroad we seem to do poorly.

Always the best part of the tests Just hope he can get some form back before next summer We're so good at home its just when we play abroad we seem to do poorly. What?! We haven't lost a one day series away now for nearly a year and have lost one test series away in six in Pakistan after our players had six months off.

Last time we played anyone any good overseas was india and we got our asses handed to us...I'm not knocking our achievements at all,we are a very good side I just worry how we would get on against india, south africa, aussies in their own backyard....but I am enjoying it atm.
Guest MattP Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 Can't knock the one day away series victory in Pakistan. It's very rare a top nation loses at home anyway, even the great Aussie/Indian/Windies sides rarely won on another top sides home patch.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 Will go back to my original point and say the selections of Smith and Doherty hurt us. Smith is picked as an all rounder who doesn't bowl and not a good enough number 6 bat, Doherty offers fook all with the ball.
marko Posted 1 July 2012 Author Posted 1 July 2012 I do enjoy watching Johnson getting hit around the park.
marko Posted 1 July 2012 Author Posted 1 July 2012 Excellent victory by 6 wickets with nearly 5 overs to spare. Good knocks by both Bell and Bopara.
Corky Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 The Barmy Army must have an effect on him. He just always seems to struggle against England.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 The Barmy Army must have an effect on him. He just always seems to struggle against England. No he doesn't..........he struggles against everyone. Even in state cricket here he battles. No one can understand why he keeps getting selected.
Corky Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 No he doesn't..........he struggles against everyone. Even in state cricket here he battles. No one can understand why he keeps getting selected. Oh right, we're always told on Sky by the commentators that he does well against other teams yet we never see what he's really about.
Guest MattP Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 I do enjoy watching Johnson getting hit around the park. I'm in the lower tier there, what a day that was
