Could this be Andy Kings year? We know he can score goals but have we ever really seen much more from him than that. I like to see the centre mids putting tackles in and dictating the play. no more excuses now, he's 24 soon. not a kid no more! Just got a feeling that now he's had a long rest we will see the real king.

NO.

Danns, James, Drinkwater and Wellens are probably all ahead of him in Pearson's plans to be honest.

Why would you think that? Wasn't it under Pearsons first reign at the club that King was used in almost every game in Div 1. It was pearson who promoted him and used him and made him the player he is. He was injured for a significant period last year and not able to compete for his position.

I think the depth of competition in CM will bring out the best in him. He may not play every game, but I think he will be an important player for us this year.

doubt it he was awful last season and he was awful against hinckley even though he score but it was very scrappy, and i like morgan as captain because when king was captain he was terrible he was never giving instructions to players,he simply isnt a very good player all round e had one year one he was really any good !

You seriously make your view based on the first friendly of the year!! grow up.

Im a big AK fan. I agree with the majority of comments on here, Pearson needs to select the games were AK plays and rotate him for others. The key is which ones?

He seems to play well when we have a lot of possesion, and are controling the game. He seems to drift when its a battle

His time will come look forward to seeing him again next season. I think another 10 plus goals next season if injury free

King is far more gifted than Neil Danns and Wellens. He had a bad season last year but there's no reason why he won't get back to how he was, scoring important goals, being defensively astute and keeping things ticking over in midfield.

Personally I don't think Danns will feature as much this year. He doesn't seem a Pearson player to me and if he is going to play in the centre then he's got to improve on his ball retention and tackling because it was the pits last year. He must have been te worst offender for needless passes to the opposition. To be fair he was shunted out on the right a lot so he had excuses for not being as good as we expected.

Big year for both Kingy and Danns. There's plenty of competition for their places and Nigel might still bring in Koren.

Nigel tried to sign him when he was at Hull didn't he?

YES!

I said it louder than you, does that mean I'm right?

Of course, the noisiest part of the engine gets the mechanic attention.

I think danns is a pearson player as pearson likes players with a good attitude and players that work hard and danns does work hard although as ric flair said he does give the ball away

Don't forget that King doesn't often get into a pretty poor Wales team.

Whats that got to do with anything? Wales have a number of good central midfielders playing in the Premier League. If anything it is a positive that he gets in the Welsh squad.

Agreed, he'd do very well to get in ahead of Ramsey and Allen.

Ramsey has been out injured for God knows how long and Allen was also a Championship player only a couple of seasons ago.

If King is as good as people are making him out to be yes, I think he would have got more caps in a pretty poor Wales team.

I have nothing against King, he's a good honest player but, having seen him play now for a few years, know that he can only shine in certain games.

We're saying he's good enough for us, not Wales...

Wellens/Danns/James/Drinkwater isn't quite the same as Allen/Ledley/Vaughan/Ramsey is it.

But no-one is making him out to be a great player, he's a useful player with scoring and defensive qualities.

Wales aren't a great side but their midfield is the strongest area.

I reiterate. King is not a bad player.

Three of the players you mentioned were Championship players when they started playing for Wales. Ledley at Cardiff, Vaughan at Blackpool, Allen at Swansea. They have each progressed and gone on to bigger clubs (or likely to) and to be better players whilst King appears to have stagnated somewhat.

Whether he's good enough to even command a place in Leicester's first team now is debatable. I'd choose Danns and Drinkwater over King from what I've seen of them.

We'll have to wait and see.

I like Andy King a lot, he is, as someone said earlier, a very intelligent player and has a "good football brain". He gets a lot of stick because "he can't tackle" but his passing and positioning are both excellent. My only worry for him is that Nigel likes to play a 442 and King is best suited in a 433. He reminds me a lot of Lampard. Late runs into the box, eye for goal, clinical finisher but not a real worker in the defensive third. I hope he shines but I have a sneaking suspicion it will be for someone else eventually (and in the Prem too).

The reason these guys are all playing championship football is down to consistency. Damns, drinkwater, king and Welles can all be top top players on their day. The fact they can't do this week in week out is their only downfall. NFP has to simply play them on form. To say player x is better than player y is wrong. Let's just appreciate what we got and get behind whoever gets the starting midfield places.

P.S I'd take bale Allen Ramsey Vaughan collision and Bellamy over our current midfield at mo! X
