Leicesters New Striker?

Why not?

O'Grady has never been mentioned in the same breath as Tommy Wright who was the next Joachim or Heskey. Unlike Wright he seems to have knuckled down and got on with trying to become a player CL wants around.

Levein would not have taken him to Norway if he didn't see something in him. The fact he is out there and Wright isn't should be evidence enough he has something about him as CL has demonstrated he is fairly ruthless, Heath, Canero and the rest of the released lot found that out.

I still think CL will be in for another Lovell calibre player so he can develop him and O'Grady for the future.

I saw him play a couple of games at Notts County cus my ex was a season ticket holder and he wasn't exactly prolific there, which was why I wasn't gonna get too carried away.

I suppose I should have said I'm not exaclty pinning my hopes on him for next season, but if the lad works hard then who knows.

I agree that Levein must see something in him, and he's got time on his side to learn and progress, plus there's a lot more emphasis on the youth under CL than MA which can only help.

Totally agree, and TBH I am not pinning my hopes on any striker we sign for the coming season, well not until after Christmas at any rate.

I think a lot of people on here have the impression that a new striker means a direct replacement for Connolly or de Vries, which is not the case. As stated earlier Dion is MdV's understudy and a new striker will be used as a late sub in tandem with O'Grady.

Connolly and de Vries are first choice, make no mistake.

Someone fast as the last thing we need is a target man as we have probably the best in the Fizzy already, Dublin. ;)

Based on what exactly? I can only think of his past? Of course compared to De Vries he's outstanding but we didn't see many performances from him last season, especially up front. He performed much better at the back.

I would like to see boyd come. havent seen him play but from what people have said on the forum, he doesnt sound to bad. And i was surprised to see Lovell become first choice ahead of Boyd (assuming he is actually one of CL's targets!)

I agree, he's hardly brilliant up front, but he is compared to the start of last season

I'd rather not have at the back though to be honest, not fast enough.

I do like old Dion though :)
