Cal Posted 12 July 2005 Posted 12 July 2005 WHo do you think CL will persue now that Lovell doesnt want a move. I still think Kris Boyd is on the cards, hes younger AND has a better scoring record than Lovell. Your thoughts?

Cal Posted 12 July 2005 Author Posted 12 July 2005 We should be so lucky, Why not offer Figo a contract while we are at it
Gené and Tonic Posted 12 July 2005 Posted 12 July 2005 He would be a good signing, but I don't know if we could afford him. Who was that guy that banged them in for Huddersfield last season? He'd be a decent signing surely? The player I'd most love to see at the Walkers next season is Riordan, but I doubt we could afford him, although a loan move could be possible.

Cal Posted 12 July 2005 Author Posted 12 July 2005 Yea, Lee Trundle from Swansea would be a good signing.

Cal Posted 12 July 2005 Author Posted 12 July 2005 Ok just me who think Lee Trundle, Anyway Boyd is looking for a move to the championship according to Sky Sports so CL with his Scottish links will probably have a look at him if he thinks he's the type of striker we want..
Cat Burger Posted 12 July 2005 Posted 12 July 2005 Fernando Torres of Athletico Madrid is young and unproven, we might just be the club who he can use to kick start his career!?!?!?!
Alexikokopops Posted 12 July 2005 Posted 12 July 2005 Trundle is a fat lazy bastard who does little trick every 3 months and gets on Soccer AM so people think he's good when he's nothin' special. Adam Boyd on the other hand is nifty, wouldn't mind getting him in, having seen him play when he was on loan at Boston and having a friend at Uni is a huge Hartlepool fan who has nothing but good things to say about him.

Adam Boyd please.

I wouldn't be suprised if we moved for Boyd and sent Canero back to Killie as part of the deal. Although I am not sure CL is looking for someone to come in as a starting forward. Pretty sure he'll see de Vries and Connolly as his main 2 with Dublin acting as de Vries's understudy. When we were in for Strum, CL stated that he was raw and would require moulding and I think thats the kind of player he is after now.

Adam Boyd would be great, but I don't think we've got the cash to land him. Luton makes sense as there's the connection with Mike Newell. Not sure he'd want to move that far south though. A Yorkshire club, or Sunderland, might be more realistic. As for the other striker, as Barton says, think cheap and young. Or look no further than Dublin and O'Grady.

This could be or or

Hazza Posted 12 July 2005 Posted 12 July 2005 I thought the plan was for Dublin to be used as a forward anyway, from what i remember CL said he saw Dion as a striker primarily aswell.
Gené and Tonic Posted 12 July 2005 Posted 12 July 2005 You never know, Morris might be fit for a while and do well. Fingers crossed!

O'Grady has never been mentioned in the same breath as Tommy Wright who was the next Joachim or Heskey. Unlike Wright he seems to have knuckled down and got on with trying to become a player CL wants around. Levein would not have taken him to Norway if he didn't see something in him. The fact he is out there and Wright isn't should be evidence enough he has something about him as CL has demonstrated he is fairly ruthless, Heath, Canero and the rest of the released lot found that out. I still think CL will be in for another Lovell calibre player so he can develop him and O'Grady for the future.
