Hi. Do any of you guys think you have a chance of beating us on the 30th? Last season we drew 1-1 with Chelsea, don't expect an easy win! :P

No, Cudicini, Makelele,Gudjohnsen, Huth, Johnson, Cole, Smertin. They're the big names that played against us, the others were playing in Euro 2004.

You've got no goals, you fool....  and where's the other stand????

There's no stand behind one of the goals but it's still a good stadium.

We should beat Oxford, they underperformed a bit last season (I remember the game against Lincoln at the Kassam where Lincoln won 1-0 but had 4 goals disallowed and hit the post, haw).

I won't forget the drama at the end of the 2002-03 season with the fight for the final play-off place.

Come on, this guy's come on and asked a question and gets called a fool and his team branded as shit. No need for it, it's not like he's said Leicester are terrible or anything.

Welcome to the forums Hazz, i think we'll probably draw too, maybe narrowly win but even under O'Neill we were never great in pre-season (if i remember rightly) so the result isn't of great importance for me.

Quite right Hazza. :D:D:thumbup: I think we will win as I am sure CL will want all his sides to have strong pre-seasons. ;)

I agree :D

The result doesn't really bother me - It's a case of integrating the new players in to a system Levein wants to adopt for next season.

Welcome Hazz, sorry about some of the early replies, fans wanting to have a genuine conversation about footy are always welcome, as for the game well pre-season friendlies are just organised training so I would imagine neither side is too concerned about the result but more concerned with fitness, individual performance and general team.

Anyway eonugh of the essay and have a good season.

Are you anywhere near Whitney only my daughter 's just moved there.

Should be there as I used to live near there, the missus' family live near Oxford and her brother's a season ticket holder. Oxford should be much better this season and SHOULD make the playoffs at worse so it'll be a good work out for us. Although I have to confess the stadium feels a bit wierd what with there only being three stands! lol

Davieg, Witney's a lovely place (IMO) :)

How's Jon Ashton doing? Fans favourite? Looked a decent prospect when he was here, i think he had one nightmare game though, was it Ipswich away? Never saw him after that.

Bothers me, it's the last game before a new season and if we go and and play badly and lose then it sets the tone for the new season IMHO.

Results early in preseason perhaps aren't important but the last couple of games are as we should have it just about right by then. I don't understand managers who say their players will get into the swing of it when the real stuff kicks-off. They should be more than ready come 3pm (or 12:45 in our case) on the first day of the season.

It will definitly be a strong side that goes out and i think from that game we will be able to figure out a side for the game against Sheff Utd. CL will put a side out close to his final XI then depending on how well they play the subs will be in contention for a starting Xi place a week later.

It will be an important game for both sets of players as it is their last chance to impress before the first game and get their name on the team sheet.

Calm down son, it was just a bit of banter, didnt realise people were so highly strung on this board. Hazz, in the unlikely event you are crying into your cornflakes this morning, as a result of my hurtful and offensive earlier comments, I apologise.

Score prediction 1-1.

;)
