davieG Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Before the shitstorm that my (I thought) measured criticism invoked, I was at pains to point out that having only taken 1 point off 'Boro last season, saturday was a big improvement. Strangely no one commented on that....... Comments on Posts is like comments on football matches everyone sees them differently
dynamark Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Listened to RL so not too much to say other than WE SCORED FROM A CORNER. Sounded like Marshall was putting some pace on the set pieces.
glenny_fox Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 We got the tactics spot on in my opinion, the way that 'Boro were passing it around the back, we could of chased and chased which would of lead to our players getting tired, which I think is what they were hoping for. The main thing I noticed in the second half was that we wern't letting them pass the ball out from the keeper, which they did every time in the first half. Like Pearson said, that was a game that needed patience as 'Boro were set up to defend. Games like that we would of drew/lost last season as we couldn't break down teams, hence why we did better against good teams because they came out to attack. In a fluent game I can see us scoring a lot of goals as we have vast strength in depth at attacking, its these games where we just need to have a bit of discipline and stick to our gameplan, which I think we did down to a tee.
