Thebaldeagle Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 He is a club legend at Oxford. What are your memories of him at Leicester?
Cobbo Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 He is a club legend at Oxford. 138350 Ditto! Matty Matty Elliott, Matty Matty Elliott, Matty Matty Elliot!!
LC/FC Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 Matt Elliot: A legend that more than filled in the shoes of the previous legend Steve Walsh.
Willis Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 I saw him score a 35-yard volley for Oxford on Central Match Live - he just smacked it one He never had that haircut for us though....
Collymore Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 Lord Elliott... down to earth guy as well, he buys smart price at ASDA
Shum Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 The 2 cup finals goals were special... but the one in the semi final V Villa I enjoyed loads!! BORING BORING BORING LEICETSER!!!
Kingy Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 TRUE LEG - END ! Won the wortho cup single handedly against Tranmere
aussie-fox Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 He is a club legend at Oxford. 138350 Ditto! Matty Matty Elliott, Matty Matty Elliott, Matty Matty Elliot!! 138352 hey where can i get other pics of city that big? i wanna frame a few for my room

Robsdee Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 Not only a legend but the best legs in football, those thighs were a wonder to behold
supedaj Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 Yep - I remember when he did so well Liverpool even wanted him. His two goals at Wembley against Tranmere will always stand out As do the 2 he scored against Bradford one sunny Saturday afternoon at filbert street, one of them was just an unbelievable header - i think cottee got the third that day - 3-0. May have to try and find those goals... Lets not forget against his equaliser against Arsenal (making it 2-2) on that amazing 3-3 night! Also 2 goals he scored while playing upfront against Everton away.. true strikers goals.. Last but not least - his first goal for the club, on his debut - against Newcastle at St James Park. We were 2-1 up after Heskey and Claridge scored, and Matty got the 3rd. Unfortunately the next events after that goal werent so good - Alan Shearer's first HAT TRICK for Newcastle!
Guest Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 He was tremendous, but his final couple of seasons were disappointing with both injury, and age I think taking their toll.
Aberdeen_fox Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 And then Martin O'Neill tried to sign him for Celtic for a ridiculous amount of money but Taylor then stuck him on an equally ridiculous contract! Was Frank Rolling the boy from Ayr Utd?
Hitesh Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 Anyone know what Matty Elliott is doing at the moment? Any coaching/scouting? or has he left football all together?
Isopen Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 Anyone know what Matty Elliott is doing at the moment? Any coaching/scouting? or has he left football all together? 138624 He did some match 'expert' work on Radio Leicester towards the end of last season, so whether he will become another ex-player going into media who knows, perhaps he was trying it out
Anish Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 He was a magnificent servant to the club, although I agree with Lisa in that his final 2 seasons with us weren't great. I don't think I'll ever see another CB score so many goals for Leicester in the way that Elliott did.
Hoof Fox Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 True legend and magnificent servant, will always be remembered as a cornerstone of one of the most if not the most successful city side in the clubs history.
a circus of imbeciles Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 Absolute star! Shame he had to trawl out some obscure Scottish relative to get international football ... should have turned out for England at his height.
