Sky, Sky Atlantic is a must for the best TV out there now.

Virgin is exceptional value for money though.

Never had Sky although my brother keeps on about paying for TV channels is mad. Although he just has Freeview and a second hand top box viewed through an ariel.

He also says I pay too much for my broadband. I have the M+ at the moment which I can reduce any time so with Tel and PC BB it comes to around £30. If I reduced the TV it would be £25 and without the box £20. I'm just paying the extra to have TV through cable. That is in addition to the TV licnse which originally came through the aiel so it seems like I'm paying twice for the same service.

Tivo is brilliant value for money and I love it, but when I use my girlfriend's Sky HD+ Tivo just seems shoddy and unreliable in comparison. HATE to admit it though.

Had Sky, got Virgin Tivo.

I found Sky way too expensive even for a basic package of phone tv and broadband. No doubt that Sky have more HD channels available but you can add Sky channels to Virgin by subscription. As previously mentioned I found Sky customer service poor. However NOTHING was as bad as TalkTalk in every respect... don't even THINK about them.

Virgin Tivo gives a good selection of FtV channels plus subscription to any extras you want. It has Sky1HD free and all the other FtV HD channels, BBC ITV etc. Their package is competetive with free weekend landline calls. I managed to screw them for the HD Tivo installation charge which they agreed to drop. It's always worth blagging what you can, after all what they REALLY want is you tied into a contract. they aren't gonna quibble about losing £50 on sign-up. Try and get the best phone package you can because that is the only area I have found where the bill can mount up.
