Phube Posted 6 November 2012 Posted 6 November 2012 I do find myself wondering how many people grow a moustache, but don't actually donate anything or give any of their time in helping the charity. A fair few I'll wager. Call me a cynic. I've decided that this is an odd statement. Unless you have a problem with Sponsored Events in general, or is it just Movember? Do the Race for Life ladies or charity Marathon runners have to pay also; or give their time to good causes as well? For my own part; my daughter, who is 3, will be sponsoring me... And I am not going to raid her Piggy Bank ( well Teremundi): so yes I will pay. Plus I spend my entire working week doing things for Prostate cancer, testicular cancer (plus breast, lymphomas, melanomas, all the cancers in between, plus myocardial problems too). Good enough?
Raj Posted 6 November 2012 Posted 6 November 2012 I find it abit odd to ask for sponsorship just to grow a moustache. I do a half marathon every year for Cancer Research and the training and actual effort of the event makes it feel like i am worthy of peoples sponsorship Call me a cynic too but just growing a moustache and asking cash for it???

Does it matter? Doing things for charity is about raising money for charity, not about who can do the hardest thing. I'd argue that if someone can raise as much for growing a moustache as they could for running a half then they're just being efficient Anyway, I'm not doing it. Enjoy people

Raj Posted 6 November 2012 Posted 6 November 2012 You'll always be a massive prat/twat to me Raj, don't worry! As in life sometimes i just go off on one without thinking!!!
vandamman Posted 6 November 2012 Posted 6 November 2012 To be fair Movember is just as much about raising awareness of Mens health than it is to raise money, the people who grow moustaches but dont get any sponsorship are still doing their bit, at the end of teh day its for charity after all. Also for example people on my facebook who do these big events like skydives, walks up far away mountains etc a lot of these events require money up front and I suspect a lot of sponsorship goes on these fees rather than actually going to the charity itself.

Hey... this is a 720 hr commitment! More than just jogging for 2-3hrs! Plus mine is purely altruistic, there is literally no benefit to me for growing a moustache in fact I will, and am, looking like a tit. You at least have the side benefit of getting a bit fitter... that's a bit selfish if you ask me! Edit: Proof my time and effort is just soooo worth it!
Raj Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 I admit my original comment was somewhat stupid and undignified,as Alex stated we all try and make monies for charities....atleast i only look a c.unt for 2 hours whilst running!! Good luck on ya all. P.S Phube..Looks abit Gangsta mate!!!

BTW Smuts et. al... where are your week one updates!?
General Smuts Posted 9 November 2012 Author Posted 9 November 2012 BTW Smuts et. al... where are your week one updates!? Think this was taken about 3 days ago. I've decided rather than shave the bum fluff on the chin to keep it strictly tache as is supposed to be the done thing, I'm gonna let it go full 'stranded on a desert island'. I'm just so happy it's not gone ginger yet. I keep forgetting I have a tache now so every time I catch a glimpse of meself in shiny objects it's a nice little surprise. PS Raj is massive twat.
myk88 Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Hi guys, Sorry for a bit of off topic. I just didn't want to create any new ones. Basically I live in Leicester and support Leicester City. But originally I am from Kharkiv, Ukraine. Where we all support FC Metalist. I might heard about us through Europe League. At the moment all ukrainian fans are united in a protest and asking for help from europian fans. Since Leicester City is my second club (after Metalist obviously) i decided to post this info here. We are asking European football fans to support us, Ukrainian football fans and to join our campaign of "black tour" or "THEYARENOTKILLERS" as a sign of protest against judicial outrage. Please, keep coming to see football games of your team from November 16th to November 19th in black and hang out the banner in cyrillic script «ВОЛЮ ПÐВЛИЧЕÐКÐМ!» and «THEY ARE NOT KILLERS». And the most important thing is that we are asking you to approach your European member of parliament (text of address you can find here) to pay attention to this case. You can raise any questions to this campaign in comments to the video film, or send mail to [email protected] Thanks to not indifferent people! http://theyarenotkillers.com/?lang=en the whole story and reason of the protest can be found on that website. That would be great if you can support our protest. Cheers, Myk

Danno Posted 10 November 2012 Posted 10 November 2012 yes that's all great, but have you grown a moustache? lol
General Smuts Posted 13 November 2012 Author Posted 13 November 2012 I've had to start using black and white photography to hide the fact it's going ginger. Shame that can't happen in real life.
Asha Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 I love your efforts Smuts, but I've probably got more hair on my bellend.
Phube Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Not too bad, good B&W usage! Here's my bad boy ( )! A bit of ginger/gold but not B&W yet! BTW those who say it's easy to grow a tache are so wrong I now spend an extra 10 mins every other day shaving (even at weekends) and my God it's itchy... Day 12

General Smuts Posted 16 November 2012 Author Posted 16 November 2012 I love your efforts Smuts, but I've probably got more hair on my bellend. I've met you Nussul and I know for a fact that's not true ... Shaggy's Myspace Profile Pic: Worth a quid?
Phube Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 Halfway through: Now wondering whether I should trim and go tache only? Hmmmm...
Nick Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 I am waiting for pictures of Fanuary - only 7 weeks to go. I hear Flowwolf is going to give it a go.
