davieG Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Will you be voting, who for and why/not? Info website - http://www.choosemypcc.org.uk/candidates/area/leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner Elections will be held in Leicestershire on 15 November 2012; the candidates standing in that election, alphabetically by surname (as they will appear on the ballot paper), and their statements in the links: LOADER, Clive (The Conservative Party Candidate) - http://www.choosemypcc.org.uk/candidates/clive-loader/ NAGDI, Suleman (Independent) - http://www.choosemypcc.org.uk/candidates/suleman-nagdi/ RUSSELL, Sarah (Labour Party Candidate) - http://www.choosemypcc.org.uk/candidates/sarah-russell/
ADK Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Will be voting for Nagdi, why? Has experience in the community and is independent.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 The lovely Robin Tilbrook (English Democrats) is running in Essex, his priority being to make sure the cross of St. George flies from every police station in the county. Having read the pledges of the candidates, I'm leaning towards independent Mick Thwaites as someone with actual policing experience. Val Morris-Cook of the Labour Party is probably my second choice, but this whole thing really is stupid.
Nick Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Voting for the fanatical Muslim. What is he fanatical about and what has being a Muslim got to do with anything? Sorry, have no idea what you are insinuating here. Can you clarify?
Guest MattP Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 What is he fanatical about and what has being a Muslim got to do with anything? Sorry, have no idea what you are insinuating here. Can you clarify? I had a bet with Moosebreath on the IM I could get you to immediately reply to something I wrote. I won. I'm actually voting for the Tory of course. I have no idea what Suleman Nagdi stands for.

Guest MattP Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Anyone want to take a wild guess at which party this represents? It's his name. Like David Cameron.

Nick Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Excellent, I was just having a little instant message chat with all my left wing trolls and I bet them that calling you a casually racist wanker would get you to post right back! And I was right! Fantastic.
Guest MattP Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Don't worry it was worth it to whip that monstrosity out.
1964FOX Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Will be voting for Sarah as the other two have stated they will sell the police to the private sector. Don't want my taxes going to some rich director at G4S or similar or my 9'99 call answered by anyone other than those directly employed by the police. VOTE SARAH.
Alf Bentley Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 It's an alternative vote (vote "1" & "2") election, isn't it? Probably Nagdi 1, Russell 2 for me...
Guest Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Do you have the option to vote for "none of the above"?
1964FOX Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Do you have the option to vote for "none of the above"? Yes don't bother going

Bit pathetic to make stuff up like that isn't it?
Guest Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Yes don't bother going There's a subtle but very important difference. The white vote or blank vote shows that you believe in the system of a democratic vote but that none of the candidates are people that you want to get the position.
Captain... Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 No, obvious really. Because you hate democracy? Anyone want to take a wild guess at which party this represents? Is it the birthday party? It just looks like she's had a lot of birthday cake. Do you need to be registered or anything to vote for this? I'm actually in Leicester for those days, and it is still my official residency.
1964FOX Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Bit pathetic to make stuff up like that isn't it? Not made it up they have both admitted they will outsource and Sarah is the only one who has stated she would not. So I'm not being pathetic thanks.

So I'm not being pathetic thanks. If you have the source to back it up, then it normally makes your point stronger and stops people accusing of lying (they normally don't read it, you could post a link to any old crap and they will just believe that it is true )
ADK Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 You make it sound like they are going to fully privatise the police. They don't have the power to do that.
Rincewind Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Got my voting card today. As I do not know any of them personally I do not know who would do the job best. I would imagine there is a set of rules they have to follow on the majority of decisions. Very few, would be based on a personal or political viewpoint. So it all comes down who can do the job the best and at the same time doing it fair to all. I do not care really what political party they support because the job involves the law not politics. I may be wrong which is why I may not vote.
