player threads

Any chance we can have a pinned thread for each player?

Just a thought. Maybe it would clear a bit of clutter from the forum.

Hopefully it would encourage people to post thoughts relating to individuals in one place.

20 odd pinned threads would be ****ing horrible unless they went in their own subforum.

A bit of merging from the mods would do the trick, really, to be honest.

It should stay as it is. If Waggy has a stinker or Beckford scores a hat trick for Huddersfield it won't take me much effort to find the appropriate thread and complain.

You could have hot links to each player down the side, then you could click on the player and see all threads associated with that player, would probably be more effort than it is worth, I do get really fed up of seeing a thread title that is just the players name and then the first post is usually just the same crap you have seen in the post match thread, or player ratings, or every other thread about that player.

Not sure what the staff can do about it though.

You can't really expect people to read every thread before starting a new topic, I rarely read the post match thread if I've been to a game because it's often got over 100 posts in it by the time I get to see it. So you're going to get repeats also people don't use the same format/syntax/words for topic titles so even a search will miss similar topics.I agree a thread with just the players name can be frustrating but mods don't have the time or the inclination to alter them although I do now and again and posters aren't always receptive to being corrected/advised of this.

You'd have to introduce tags for threads, and then rely on thread starter to select the correct / appropriate tag. Users browsing the forum can then use search and limit the criteria to only a specific tag.
